I'm MORE than happy to test it out as well!
Will the EPG issue ever be addressed?

Not sure if it will make a difference but Vaders is currently having EPG problems. Most of the UK section is down
Yep - Vaders is having some growing pains....

@Speicher22
you in, check your PM. -
I'd like to try and test it. The EPG and time shifting have been killing me. I was on the edge of returning the box over these issues as they have been making it hard to enjoy box.
-
Hello Sam, can i also do the beta test?
We are very much using the same portal in my country.
Thank you
PS: To test, i have a Z+ -
-
Thank you guys for working on it so promptly, i said i would do it and i did, so i bought imne today as otherwise i would love to have the box.
If i could be let in too, it would be awesome -
For now we have already enough people for beta test and going to next step, extended optimisation. Please be patience this next weeks until official update goes OTA i think all of you will be glad to see the end result. Beta Tester can already write here few words about the new EPG and how it works, if they want
@Big dog
With next official update will both issues be fixed. In this case we test only EPG not Timeshift/UDP issue. Like i know Timeshift/UDP issue is already fixed and will come with next release in March.@nmaker
For now we do tests only with z7+. From Bug-fixing will profit at end all Z Boxes with next Update. -
I would love to help out with this issue Sam. I know you said you have enough testers, but I have 5 different active portals that I can test with, both stalker and xtreamcodes, to ensure that its getting fixed at all levels.

Mano check your pm. 5 different portals could be usefull.

if you need any more testers id also be up for it I'm currently looking for another iptv box because of this poor guide so if there is hope in the near future id like to hold off as I do really like this box but my time being off and the poor guide is making it hard to keep it.If any testers see better results hopefully we will hear some info on it soon so we can hold off dumping our boxes

Just to give everyone a little update...the beta program is very promising! EPG loads in the background on starting up the MTVOL app and while the official time estimates for full population are 10-15 minutes, the actual loading times seem to be 3-4 minutes for most portals.
There are still some bugs to work out with caching the EPG when exiting the portal, but its a very exciting step for anyone who has been upset with this long standing issue.
-
Just to heat up little bit and give more Info:) The March Update will not only contain EPG fix and few other requested fixes, there could (depends from needed time for fixes) also come new feature.
- Xtreamcodes Api & m3u/xmltv playlist support in MOL
Like i say, could. It`s on the list.
-
Thanks for that Sam. Can i ask what the benefit of having m3u would be in MOL? The only one I could think of is the ability to not lock the sub to the box. By using m3u instead of the MAC address it would free you toni stall the subscription on multiple boxes as long as you only had one running at a time or if your provider allows multiple connections.

This is great news I wont will the time be corrected my guide still is an hour and 45 minites ahead

I have never had an issue with the time being off on my box with any provider I have used. EPG is always lined up perfectly. Make sure you have your timezone [lexicon]settings[/lexicon] correct and then touch base with your service provider and see if its something from their end.
Perhaps take a trial with a couple of other services and see if you have the same issue with those services. If so, that could indicate that it is something to do with the box. If not, then its likely a service issue.

I would love that, it would make smoothstreams and other providers that don't have stalker support run great on the formuler!

Its funny, when Sam first mentioned the m3u possibility I hadn't really thought of that as a reason for it, but it popped into my head while reading the thread about Gears on reddit. It would certainly add some intrigue to see how it works with the MOL program. Not to mention it would open up the possibility to have more than one device (even if on ly one at a time) with the majority of providers that don't give you an m3u playlist if you have a MAC registered.

Does the EPG load across all groups on startup, or can we limit it to prioritize the current group first?
Also, for the M3U playlist support, I'm assuming this could be setup like Perfect Player, where I have one playlist for Live TV + Catch Up TV, and a second playlist for VOD.
Here's an example of my current setup...
Playlist 1 (For Live TV + Catch Up TV)

I can’t speak to the m3u thing as we haven’t really been given any info on it. As to your EPG question, we currently have no control over the pulling of info, but my experience is that it loads the current category you are using first, and in order. For me I open to my Favourites and its seto to about 250ish channels depending on the provider. It loads first and quickly, usually in 2 or 3 minutes.
