    1.Einleitung

    Quote

    Box General Info

    Request: IP_of_your_box/web/about

    1. Initiation

To understand the following lines rudimentary knowledge of how the TCP / IP network is required.

All boxes based on Enigma (2) have a Linux kernel and can be via API commands the integrated web interface or a console through Telnet or SSH control. These commands are to be used here summarized and described according to. Each call starts with the IP address of the box, followed by a function call (example):

    Quote

    Box General Info

    Request: IP_of_your_box/web/about

The placeholder "IP_of_your_box" always stands for the IP address used on the local network, it is irrelevant whether the box is connected via a network cable or a wireless Wi-Fi connection to the router. On delivery, the box is of an available connection to a router with activated DHCP is assumed. The router assigns with correct connection to the box, automatically a free IP address and know that address to the MAC address for the network interface of our box. This IP address is now usually change only after deleting the entire configuration in the router.

    2. Preparing to Install

If you have installed an earlier version than DreamBoxEdit 6.x on your PC, please use the uninstall feature of this version. Unfortunately, this is not necessarily ensure that all entries from the registry file in Windows also been deleted. It is precisely these entries can be very annoying effects during installation or later when using call forth. Therefore, it is certainly a good recommendation to rid the registry file of such entries. I do not think highly of so-called Uninstall Tools for Windows, I would like to show you how you perform the cleaning agents with board.

Warning! During manual cleaning care is required because sure you have you ever wondered why these tools are never so thoroughly Uninstall. The seller or developer must perform a balancing act here in terms of the high expectations of the user and a possibly defective registry file go, which can cause the Windows will not start.

Do not worry, DreamBoxEdit leaves so little entries in your registry file so that here an error while cleaning is actually excluded.

    Quote

Opens on START the Windows Start menu, and give to the line "Run" command "regedit".

In the tree on the left, we delete the following keys folder:

    Quote

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER - Software - DreamBoxEdit
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER - Software - LlamaWare

    der1.jpg der2.jpg

Thereafter, any old entries should install DreamBoxEdit interfere 6.x more, but are all the [lexicon]settings[/lexicon] you made in an earlier version deleted and must be re-entered.

    3. Configuration

This DreamBoxEdit can access files in the Enigma box, various [lexicon]settings[/lexicon] must be made. In the Options window, we take these changes before now. If you would like access different Enigma boxes with DreamBoxEdit, it makes sense to create a profile, respectively. In this case, first the default profile name is overwritten by a meaningful entry and choose "Save Profile" with stored thereafter, other profiles with "New Profile" are added.

    deen2.jpg

Now we can take care of the [lexicon]settings[/lexicon] in the right window. The most important information we need here is the IP address of the Enigma box. Should still be in the delivery, the box or just a fresh image have been flashed, is active in the network [lexicon]settings[/lexicon] of the active network adapter DHCP. This gives the box where active network connection from your router assigns a free IP. This address we can now see in > [lexicon]Settings[/lexicon]-> System-> Network read> Adapter [lexicon]settings[/lexicon] menu for example in a Enigma2 box.

    deen3.jpg

We bear the discovered IP address now in the appropriate field. In all Enigma boxes is the user name "root" is entered, but the password can vary. So at Enigma (1) Boxing is the password from the factory "dreambox" while boxes can be left blank for Enigma (2). The HTTP port on which port describes the web interface of the box plays, just as in the call to a normal website on the Internet. You can change this port on the Enigma Web Interface Extension. To the configuration, it passes on the box with menu-> Extensions-> Web Interface. Here is also determined whether the authentication by user name and password when you access should be turned on, which of course only makes sense if a password has been assigned. Is also activated also accessible through the encrypted HTTPS protocol, which requires a set password (no password no function). Activated in DreamBoxEdit as shown above, sometimes the SSL / TLS function, and then compares make the displayed port 443 with the [lexicon]settings[/lexicon] on the box . It can not be implemented all the features of DreamBoxEdit not only via the web interface of the box, for the exchange of files is still a valid FTP (File Transfer) requires configuration. Here should be the default values adopted.

Now, let's test our entered values. "Test IP connection" with only the accessibility of the web interface of the box is tested using the IP address and port. With the function below, via FTP, then trying to build that will only succeed with the correct username / password combination. If you have completely missed when entering, you can undo the last operation all TCP / IP [lexicon]settings[/lexicon] to the default values.

Although DreamBoxEdit can now access over the network to the box, but we are not the correct file paths to it do not have much joy. We distinguish between local and remote paths. Since the appearance of Enigma2 have the paths for the channel -and- Bouquet lists and changed their dependencies on the box only slightly.

The basic distinction between the list of all channels (lamedb) and applied by user Bouquets (Favorites). Only by creating a user bouquet sort of channels is possible!

The following is a brief overview of files and their meaning and content:

    Quote
    • satellites.xml (XML formatted list of all transponders per Geostationary position), is used in channel search
    • lamedb ( list of all found during the scan channels per service -> TV, Radio and Data)
    • bouquets.tv bouquets.radio, (which users bouquets can be found on the box)
    • user bouquet. *. tv, user bouquet. *. radio (own channel lists with reference to channels from lamedb)

    deen4.jpg

For all models with release date of the Dreambox 7025-S (DM7000-S, DM500-S / C, DM5620-S and DM600-S / C / T) apply here on the quick selection selectable paths for all subsequent models apply the developer stored paths. It is per path described which files need to be stored there.

A special feature here is the local path to the data directory, because here you can specify for each profile a suitable folder. Specify a single data directory would like for all profiles, you should make use of the selection window of a global data directory on the FTP. These [lexicon]settings[/lexicon] now stands downloading the [lexicon]settings[/lexicon] files from the box and editing with DreamBoxEdit nothing in the way. Have fun.

    4.Filter channel list

Lest we lose ourselves in the list of channels found, we will now provide some overview. Since we are interested in data channels in the preparation and do not modify our bouquets, we hide this completely.

    deen5.jpg

Also hide all encrypted channels works with a mouse click. As a result, all unencrypted TV and radio channels are now displayed and we could start the desired channels in our bouquet to Add.

    deen6.jpg

To view all the channels to sort alphabetically to use a well-known by many operating systems function, click on the appropriate column, thereby changing the alphabetical sort order.

However, if you want to further restrict beyond the selection, DreamBoxEdit brings some very interesting features. So it is in these two fields possible by the use of wildcards before and after the entered channel (left) or Provider (right), to achieve a very specific selection.

    deen7.jpg

If we click the first time in one of these fields, we obtain the functioning of the placeholder even explained in a (turn-off) Splash Screen.

    deen8.jpg

For most users, this form of selection is certainly new to it seems so important to deal with it in more detail. We are looking for example the string "sat" on all channels, we give as explained in the splash screen in left field "% a% sat. As a consequence, in the channel list appears only channels that have the string "sat" somewhere in the name, so 3sat, SAT.1 etc. The situation is similar with the provider (right panel), as we can for example enter the string "ZDF% ZDFvision "" an, all channels of the providers are "displayed. How to reach very rapidly to the desired selection result and can add the channels as shown in the next workshop in his User bouquet.

    5. Waiter

In the previous workshop, we have seen how we can channel the flood in DreamBoxEdit reduce slightly. Therefore, we can finally begin our bouquet "Favorites" with the favorite programs to fill.

If you should not be missing something innovative in creating here, simply subtract times your TV magazine as a template for help. In my example was the home favorite list only be accepted after had the daily program overview of TV magazine in program order in the box reflected. First, we select the rightmost window a bouquet of (usually the standard bouquet "Favorites"). Now appears this bouquet in the center window content.

    deen9.jpg

We now want to add more channels in this bouquet, we select in the left pane, select the channels and drag while holding down the left mouse button in the middle window. Of course it is also possible with the known function in Windows to mark (CTRL + left mouse button) multiple channels. It costs my opinion too much time to look even when you add in the correct order.
Copy first all desired channels and makes you create then follow the sequence within the bouquet in the middle window. To continue with the example, selection via channel list functions, then add all desired channels of a provider in the bouquet and clean up later.

    deen11.jpg

Even more clarity within a bouquet is achieved through the use of "marker". Imagine how the article title before, which is just as shown in the bouquet of your list box. It is very easy, large bouquets give more structure.

    deen10.jpg

Should you prefer to create another bouquet to outsource eg channels rarely used, the observed to the "Multi Bouquet" function on the box to menu-> [lexicon]Settings[/lexicon]-> Control -> Customize must be turned on. Do you want the user when zapping through your nose, is connected at the end of a user bouquet on the first program of the next user bouquet, the option switches in the same menu "Change bouquets in quickzap" to yes.

    6. Manage Picon

A Picon (probably a word created from Program and Icon ) is a graphical element in the OSD which is the channel logo of a TV / Radio program. In this case, the file name of Picon is based on the reference channel of the corresponding program.

    deen12.jpg

Showing> is the channel reference information eg during a run on the box above menu. At the reference channel then depends only on the file extension (* .png) of which must have a color depth of 8 or 32 bit. Should these conditions be met, we need now following requirements so that the Picon on the box are also displayed.

    • Location depends on the skin used
    • Picon Skin must have assigned a place in the OSD
    • Default paths / usr / share / enigma2 / picon and / media / usb / picon

    deen13.jpg

To be able to manage with DreamBoxEdit his Picon, one must know that any existing Picon on the box can not be downloaded directly to DreamBoxEdit. If you want to check the files for completeness or timeliness of, you have to use an FTP client on the computer download. The path where you have saved the Picon, it then adds in profile in the options to "Local path for Picon". (Path on Picture only exemple!)

    deen14.jpg

This path is stored with the profile, so you can define your own path for each profile entry. Now DreamBoxEdit need to know where the changed Picon is deposited on the box. To do this you selected in Options-> Profile-> path for Picon on the box, the correct path. As described above, this is dependent on your box and the skin, you have so a box with enough flash memory (DM7020HD and all v2 boxes) you can use the default path / usr / share / enigma2 / picon use, otherwise it is recommended that Picon on an external device (no HDD, eg / media / usb / picon outsource).

    deen15.jpg

A retrieval on a USB stick is only possible if it was unmounted cleanly in the device manager of the box according to the above path. Now we have to set how DreamBoxEdit to deal with the Picon in use. To do this we re-open the Options and change to the GUI tab. A checkmark in box enables the display and "Picon dimensions" we set the size of the displayed Picon in TV bouquet user details, so the center window fixed.

    deen16.jpg

Here it must be sensible on what size are the native Picon, so that an undistorted representation is possible. Example: For the native dimension of 100 × 60, 100 × here how to enable 60 or 50 × 30 is useful.

After saving the [lexicon]settings[/lexicon], while we load the last saved [lexicon]settings[/lexicon], because while the Picon be the first time in DreamBoxEdit left of the display channels in our bouquet. Now we can check whether all Picon was assigned to a channel.

    deen17.jpg

Should this not be true what we click with the right mouse button on a channel and select "Kanalpicon assign", where a selection window opens where we need to navigate once at the local path of the Picon. There we can assign any channel Picon. More options in just the shortcut menu called, here is the link to the current Picon would delete or copy the reference channel in the Windows clipboard to search the file folder for her. Should you find on the net a new package of your favorite Picon, it is always recommended to override folder the entire contents of the local Picon, because one may assume that the latest Picon are included based on the channel reference in this package.

    7. Streaming

To use the streaming function effectively in DreamBoxEdit necessary various basic [lexicon]settings[/lexicon]. In the options, and the GUI tab, we switch the function on and share DreamBoxEdit the path to the VideoLAN VLC program.

    deen18.jpg

For boxes with a single (Single) tuner we should also activate the function, so DreamBoxEdit before streaming to the right channel can switch. For problems with the VLC, you should stick to the VLC version recommendations of the developer. Other [lexicon]settings[/lexicon] are not necessary, because with the shortcut CTRL + S (goes on right mouse click), we can now any channel at top right (a detached and scalable window is pursuing in preparation). With a double and a full-screen display is possible.
