  • Hey there everyone. I have a Z12 Ultra on the way. Wondering what is the best setup for connecting to my media server that hosts lossless, remux, dts....files

Is Kodi PM4K still the app to use? Is there a different add on to use now? Is it better to just use the regular Emby or Plex apps?

Also, I'm going to guess that even with Kodi I won't be able to get Dolby TrueHD 7.1 and/or DTS-HD Master Audio 7.1?

I have messed with Ugoos and Homatics boxes using CoreElec if I really want the best audio. I think I've reached a point I don't mind down mixing if it means I can use one box for two apps. Nothing out there beats MyTvOnline so I think I'm done switching HDMI inputs to use MOL for tv and over to CoreElec for lossless.

Would be interesting if CoreElec could be put on the formuler z12 but don't think I've ever seen that mentioned due to the RealTek chip

  • I have a NAS with movies with dolby vision and dolby atmos.

The one and only player who plays everything very well is Kodi.

I go via the app File manager plus to my NAS and select the movie.

Then appears in right corner of my lg tv dolby atmos and dolby vision and or hdr etc.

Kodi is such a great app to play movies.

I'm talking about Sound. Do you have a media receiver that tells you what the audio out is being processed as? There is a reason only a few devices play FEL Lossless files. They aren't using Kodi in Android. They have to overwrite Android with CoreElec linux version and run Kodi through there.

Audiophiles will know what I'm talking about.

  • Yeah Kodi PM4K. Then in settings enable dolby vision compatibility mode.

Audiophiles will know what I'm talking about. It takes way more effort to run FEL Dolby 7 then just video.

    Doesn’t passthrough enabled work?
