Interested how the data retrieval works, local or each time request mol to server?
If local no problem (costs only box resources) but online request each 1 sec. (60 requests in Min. to server script) would definitely lead into block/bann, depends from script security settings on each server.

Data is retrieved from the local decoder.
Costs box resources, so in order to avoid UI slow downs, we can't update it very frequently.
We will change the refresh interval to 1 or 3 seconds after discussing with the developers.

The user/requestor hasn’t really said how this would be helpful. Why is it so important to reduce the refresh rate?
Personally, I would suggest leaving it as it is now..especially if a change will affect available resources.
I expect the developers have much higher priorities.
