    WARNING:
Install and use at your own risk. Software cannot be rolled back after installation.
Please keep in mind, this is Beta and could have also bugs or act unstable, it is for testing and not for productive use 24h with the box.
If you don`t want to test, please wait until official comes out. No Forum support in other threads if beta is in use, beta issues should be discussed only in this thread.

    HowTo Install:

Home Menu -> Software Update -> press "0227" -> Red Icon and Beta Test SW appear (right corner) -> Press Red Button -> Now is the Firmware and Software shown, press now "OK" button for install.

The install process and reboot works automatically! Please don`t turn off the box or plug out the power supply, could damage the box. The reboot after update needs always much more time then usual, please be patinate and let the box finish the install.

This time also, we get many changes and top new features. The biggest is: Backup & Restore (no more fear from factory reset  ), USB DVB-T2 tuner support, Recording Manager and much more.

Many user requests are implemented and bugs fixed  Please note, not all user requests can be implemented so fast, if not in this update, if possible it will come with future updates, step by step.

The fix for the black screen issue was only for a certain case that devs. reproduced in the lab. Please don`t mix this fix with ISP or IP ban issue and from ban following black screen.

  • Hotfixes from this update are fixes for last update, so no new features included. Next Major update with new features will come before end of the year.

  • When using the portal (username & password), editing groups will delete all previously saved favourite channels, even if the deleted groups contained none of the favourite channels.

(I'm not sure if this is a beta-only or if it has always been the case)

  • First post!

No Forum support in other threads if beta is in use, beta issues should be discussed only in this thread.

This means in this thread here and nowhere else.

When using the portal (username & password), editing groups will delete all previously saved favourite channels, even if the deleted groups contained none of the favourite channels.

(I'm not sure if this is a beta-only or if it has always been the case)

Thank you for the feedback Cob. Does this happen only with XC Api or also with MAC/ID Stalker?

Known issue. Will be patched in the next major update

  • So are you confirming USB DVB-T2 tuner support for US? next update?

USB ATSC tuner support will be added to MOL2 before the end of the year.

USB DVB-T tuner support is already implemented for parts of the world that use DVB-T terrestrial broadcasts.

  • I have checked Software Update on my Z8 and this hot-fix update is not shown or available on my box...why is that?

My current firmware is v1.4.22, IPTV version is v7.2.2.

  • On the update screen, just press "0227", and the Beta message will appear in lower right corner of screen. There's no obvious place to enter the numbers...just press the code.

ohhhhhh......use the damn flippin keypad and type in 0227.....

of course....i should have know all this!

    LoL....

    thanks a lot big BIllC

  • Let the box for at least 10 min. work and if nothing happens , brake up and reboot the box. Check if all is same and post current installed fw and mol version.

  • Am noticing that the timeshift function is not the same when accessing Catchup channels versus "live" streams. The blue dot doesn't appear. However, timeshift is working somewhat better than before with Catchup channels, even though the program skips to the end after about 45 minutes of viewing. I am able to skip back to the beginning, and then FF to where I left off, but am unable to skip forward after that point. Skipping forward results in a skip to the end of the show.

    Anyone else observing this?

  • The way I read this these features are added in this update:

"This time also, we get many changes and top new features. The biggest is: Backup & Restore (no more fear from factory reset  ), USB DVB-T2 tuner support, Recording Manager and much more."

Is USB DVB-T2 tuner support in this updated for US users now?

Edited once, last by DrUnKeN_TiGeR (September 7, 2019 at 4:13 AM).

  • Since the beta, some recordings (without EPG) stop before the end (usb storage formatted NTFS).

    It didn't happen before.

An i have several crashes from now on.

Anyone noticed that or is it just my storage?

USB ATSC tuner support will be added to MOL2 before the end of the year. Mean, will come with next major release.

In last update was USB DVB-T tuner support implemented for parts of the world that use DVB-T terrestrial broadcasts. This all told 175n already in older post -> Beta hotfix: Firmware 1.4.25 / Mytvonline 2 software 7.2.3 for Z8.

    @all

Please write with your feedback also the connection type MAC/ID Portal, XC APi Portal or M3U Playlist. It is very important for reproduce.

  • I can easily locate catchup channels when using the portal connection. The "catchup symbol" is shown on the EPG.

However, when using the m3u list, I've been unable to access catchup channels on MOL2. The "catchup symbol" is not displayed on the EPG when using the m3u list.

Am I missing a setting somewhere? (Wouldn't be the first time!):face_with_tongue:

  • Using the portal, and watching a catchup channel, I had the same issue reported some time ago about time shift on "live" shows. Specifically, when accessing a one hour catchup show that is, for example, a day old, I can start watching from the beginning. I can skip through a few commercials, at my setting of 30 seconds per skip. But, once I'm into about 15 minutes of the show, the blue "progress bar" jumps to the end of the show. I cannot go back to any of the stream that is in the portion from the 15 minute mark until the end of the show.

  • BillC

Can you elaborate more? I don't know if I understand you correctly. Trying to understand you more.

From what you wrote, when you're watching catch up it skips to the end of the show after watching about 15 minutes.

I'm watching a show that was aired yesterday, and so far no issues....do I have to watch specific show?

You can PM me if you want.

I have a quick video which displays the problem, but just found that I can't upload mp4 or other video formats! I'll zip it, and maybe that will work? Let me know.

The video shows me advancing a few times using a 30 sec interval. I'll go forward with 3 clicks, and resume watching for a few moments, and then advance 3 or 4 clicks (intervals) again. The playhead jumps to the end of the video shortly after the 11:38 mark is reached. I cannot get to any portion of the video after that point once it has jumped to the end of file. This problem is observable on many different shows.

Is it possible that this is a provider issue with an incomplete catchup recording?

Happens to me quite often too. E.g. I watched last night's American football on catch-up, and after about 1 hour the timer jumped to the end of the programme (3hr 15mins).

But the programme kept on playing, providing I didn't try to fast-forward again (damn near impossible to do when US sports has commercials every 5 minutes).

But this happened on the previous stable build, not just this beta.

  • This issue appears to have been fixed in this Beta Hotfix for both "live" shows and recorded shows.

One difference I note when viewing a catchup show, versus a "live show, is that there is no "blue dot" that appears in the timeline when the 12 o'clock position is pressed. Perhaps the "blue dot" feature means that there has been a different implementation of the FF/Rev function when viewing "live" and recorded material, versus catchup?

  • Hmmmm strange. but let me know if you see this again in beta or future update.

ya the 'blue dot' isn't available in catcup but you can still use buttons to go FF/Rev. Not sure if it's intended or not but functionality still works.

Do you get this in beta version? Are you using xtreme code or mac?
