seeing a 4k movie and suddenly my formuler z8 restarted.
Was it from a IPTV channel and were you using MOL2?
The latest software (FW: 1.4.43/MOL2 7.5.2) has some fix for that, do you have it installed already?
Tks for The fast answer, yes was from iptv server with mol2. When i arrive home tonight i Will check The update versión. I think i updated past week, but o Will check and comeback here.
Checked, i have 1.4..43
Mol2 7.5.2
Can you confirm how you shut down your device every day? Do you use the STB button normally? Or do you use the "Power off" option?
The issue stopped for me when I start doing a real shutdown after every use/day.
I shut down both ways... Normally with power off
I upgraded from 1.4.41 to 1.4.43 on monday.
I used 1.4.41 for a few weeks without any spontaneous restarts.
Today, tuesday, the second day of 1.4.43, I have seen a restart also again...
It happened after approx 2 hours of MOL2 7.5.2 IPTV viewing (not 4k)(with a provider fixed setting "Playback Limit" set to "3 hours").
só, If i understood you have The same problem.
i upgrade, and no problem here. but i only.have catch up tv, on one provider.
non on the other, please for some help. am using 2 subscription, with my tvonline.

How many times has it happened since you updated?
What type of portal were you connected to? (XC API, m3u, MAC?)
Connected with Ethernet or WiFi?
Old thread splited and newer postings moved to new thread.

Since a day yes, the issue has returned for me also when using firmware version 1.4.43.
I have opened an "official" support ticket at Formuler support for this. They are investigating.
in my case:
How many times has it happened since you updated? - just happened once, because it was the first 4K Movie i tried. Happened after 30 minutes +/-.
What type of portal were you connected to? (XC API, m3u, MAC?) - m3u
Connected with Ethernet or WiFi? - Ethernet
1.4.43
Mol2- 7.5.2
VPN connected - Nordvpn
Shutdown Type (normally) : Poweroff
Ocurrence: I was seeing a 4K movie from IPTV provider, after 30 minutes +/- the z8 restarted by herself.
Best regards
If it was only once, it could be some codec conflict. Install Audio Optimizer App from Market and execute, then test few 4k videos and report.

After installing the audio optimizer, i sucefully saw a 4k movie (2hours) without any kind of problem. Thank you. I Will keep testing tomorow and then comeback to report.
I have the same problem.
I can watch a 4k movie around 60 minutes. And after this the box will restart. I have the problem with 4k TV channels and 4k movies from emby.
I have installed the audio optimizer but I have still the problem.
Before the big update everything was OK..
Then execute the app again and restart the box.

Yes of course.

If I say I have downloaded the latest version from audio optimizer. So I Mean I have already excute the app and restarted the box. But the problem it's still the same. About 60 minutes and booom.

A total of 4 times across 3 days now using a MAC portal when being connected with ethernet.
About 60 minutes and booom.
Do you only see the issue with 4K channels. I also have the issue with HD channels.
For my Z8 it makes a difference how I shutdown the box. I never use the standby function anymore.
What happens if you, after a crash, do one more real restart (not via standby), and then start a MOL2 channel? Does that change the uptime of the box?

The problem was only on uhd TV channels and movies. Not by fhd. I don't use the standby option.
Well it all sounds like we encounter some sort of memory leak.
I hope the Devs quickly find it via the support ticket I raised. They've already received multiple log reports.
OK thanks so I can do something or just wait?
I don't know if it helps if more people report it, there might be different restart issues. But I guess Formuler reads this forum also, if so, they already know and it will be just a matter of patience...

Done
For my box there is a difference between using it after a crash restart, and me restarting it again after a crash restart.
The uptime, or time between crashes, is longer, when I do the extra restart after the crash auto-restart.
But in The versión before you didnt had restart problems wIth 4k movies?

I never play 4K content with my Z8.
I have the restart issues whith FHD channels in MOL2.
I only have the seen this restart issue in Firmware versions 1.4.40 and 1.4.43.
The version before 1.4.40 worked fine.
1.4.41 worked fine.
I skipped 1.4.42.
Sooo, maybe there's hope for us. I was afraid that was a hardware problem
Actually I just checked, the "device restart" we see (Including Android and Z8 logo screens!) when viewing something in MOL2 is not a real restart.
After such a crash which happened just now I went to: Settings > About > Status
And it still showed an uptime of 32 minutes!

Exactly the same problem. Uptime was 3 hours.
Info: Like i`m hearing this issue will be fixed in the official Z8 update this week.
