You mean where to get vpn access account? Just browse the web and search for express vpn or nord vpn, subscribe and you will get Android App from this vpn to install on your box.

is it worth running a VPN on the z8 box , do it make the internet faster slower stable

donboy I personally use a VPN, just to try to protect what I am doing .. never have any issues, my speed is about the same or faster when using my VPN. Depending on your ISP, running a VPN could make it faster if they are throttling you or limiting your bandwidth, but I have also seen it slow some down.. If you have issues with IPTV buffering or not playing channels, it could be related to your ISP + testing out a VPN is not a bad thing, cant hurt!

thanks AB for the reply , I am in Russia working , internet here is hit and miss , on speed test shows 95mbps speed , but still getting buffering jerky , I will give VPN a good what the 1 to use you think

donboy I personally use Mullvad VPN .. I have used them for a few years + have loved them .. they offer a free 3 hour trial I believe .. but once the trial is up, you can use another trial if you need to test it out further. They have an article if you do experience slow speeds, how to try to increase them with the VPN, its https://mullvad.net/en/help/improve-slow-speeds-throttling/

i have a vpn subscription , i installed there vpn and it is connected , but then i don't have channels anymore , everything is black, are there specific encryption and protocols and ports which have to be respected ?
it is dropping and reconnecting al the time

I assume you use MOL2 directly after connecting to vpn?
To verify that internet through vpn is working: What if you open a browser and try to open a random webpage, doest that work?

i stay on the vpn and i see it connecting and disconnecting

If you go to the Z8 homescreen, there is a connection icon, does it have a exclamation or question mark? If you watch the icon for a few minutes does the icon change?
Do you have acces to your internet modem or router logfiles? Do you see the disconnects there? Perhaps these logs tell more about the root-cause.

there is no question mark, and when i go back , to the app it is still connected
but no image on the mytvONline2

I put the vpn as startup app, restarted , connected and then went to the online2 , it does the setup connecting to internet
and then after selecting a channel, it does the EPG but the screen stays black , epg is available

that is solved now, the vpn stays connected

How many channels did you try? Did they ever work? How many days did you check?
And just to make sure?: DId you already install the latest official (not beta) MOL2 (7.5.6)?

i tried one which works without vpn, not working with vpn active
and then deactivating the vpn , the channel streams again
( deactivating , with that i mean disconnect )
you can see the image is there
i have the box since the day before yesterday and the update was performed , but i will check if i find that version 7.5.6

Z8 Firmware is something else. MOL2 aka MyTVOnline2 is the IPTV App.
Usually they are upgraded in pair so it seems you are already up-to-date.

i tried france, same issue, i now also added check on youtube, that works

The ciphers etc should not matter.
I don't know about available settings because I never used that VPN App... but I would experiment with disabling vpn features (if possible) in the client (without stopping the actual VPN).
If that does not help I think you also need to consider asking the VPN software provider forum for help also.

I also don't have a dedicated vpn ip, it should not matter.
Perhaps take a short trial account with another vpn provider to see if that works better in combination with your iptv provider.

i am trying protonvpn , it has a free subscription included but with limited server collection
my wife is watching poldark on the regular tv so .... i will have to wait with experimenting

Using ProtonVPN the MOL2 channel did work for some time and that channel never worked through TorGuard?
That would still confirm a VPN provider issue for me.
Although it would be nice if the MOL2 and VPN App have some kind of logfile in which we could check what is really happening. The black screens forces us in a lot of guessing...

i reinstalled the ProtonVPN , configured it to startup with android in the settings of the vpn app
configured the startup app of the iptv to tvkeyboard, wait a while to let the vpn kick in
then start the onlinetv2
and it should work
i restarted 5 times , and all depends on " has the vpn choosen the fastest one or for my case the canadian : which was the biggest bandwith
so it works , but you have to verify what server he takes : canada seems ok , sometimes the fastest works too
so a paid subscription on ProtonVPN should do the job 4e/m
maybe torguard will find a solution for there awkward behaviour of the userinterface

if after reboot the omtv2 stops on 10 percent
it will show an error code after a while
it is better to exit mol2 and verify the vpn connection
this problem should be out of the way if you use a real fast vpn server which is available for 4e/month
i am going to verify my torguard once again and raise a ticket concerning the awkward behaviour of their APPGUI

So perhaps with your testing, switching vpn's and thus ip's and sometimes even countries, the provider might put a temporary "suspend" on the account based on "suspicious activity", which will then result in this "code 7" in MOL2.
About startup apps, I have disabled them.
After shutdown/startup I now always do the following, because it "always works":
1) Wait in the homescreen for the connection icon to be clean of any "!" or "?" => unplug/plug ethernet cable is usually needed to make that happen.
2) Start VPN app and wait for it to be connected.
3) Start MOL2
(and sometimes I just close all apps and leave the Z8 on 24x7, because sometimes it is too much work to get the ethernet connection to work)

the code 7 is only after the load of MOL2 has been stalling on 10%
i don't think my vpn provider blocks 'suspicious activity" i am not suspicious enough and i can use them on several aparatus at the same time
macbookpro , ddwrt'd router, iphone, android , no problem there
i am almost convinced that it has to do with the server speed

When you get the code 7, do for example youtube video's still work?
