  • I recently changed the password of my Synology NAS to a long and complex one and wanted to input the new lengthy password in File manager to reconnect to my Synology NAS. Unfortunately the passwordt length that File Manager accepts is limited.

This is very annoying as nowadays in order for passwords to be secure they are longer than in the old days.... :face_with_rolling_eyes:

Can development please update the fieldlength of the username and password so it can accept 30 character length passwords and usernames? :face_blowing_a_kiss:

    Passwords with 11 chars like:

    A1z)9L2y!UG

    vqCo(6=rm(/

    AA%zMP/(G=%

    R&y!h!u§(rp

are already strong enough and need for some brute force attack scripts months to crack. If we go to higher level "Server level" 16-30 it need for almost all scripts xxxx years to crack the password. Over 30 is "Fort-Knox-Level", don`t need to write how much such scripts need to crack such password :grinning_squinting_face: Ok one more, " Big -Bang level" up to 64 chars, i guess the earth does not exist any more.

What i want to tell you, not the length is so much important but also the chars you create. With password same like "R&y!h!u§(rpvqCo(6=rm(/" you will be always on safe side.
