I think the answer to this is "no", but I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something.
Is there a way to disable HDCP on the GTV? I know how to do it on my Z8Pro, but was hoping it could also be done on the GTV.
Please confirm, thanks!

Sure. Set a static IP instead of using DHCP.
As for setting it off, it's not a function of the 'client' (i.e. GTV) but a function of your router.
Cheers!

I think you are confusing DHCP with HDCP. One is a dynamic way of obtaining an ip address, the other is digital content protection over HDMI signal. But thanks anyhow
Oops. I better put my reading glasses on next time.

Not possible on GTV. Can you share why you need to turn it off?

It's not a big deal at all, I was just trying to test a new piece of hardware I got for Betamax/VHS conversions. I wanted to test the codec and compression quality for the "PC-less" standalone mode of the "AVerMedia Live Gamer Portable 2 PLUS" using a high def source, and was hoping to record some footage from the GTV. I was then thinking of using it for a "PVR" type setup for the GTV (I know you can record in MyTVOnline, but there are other apps I use on the GTV).
I use an HDMI capture device from the company "HDML Cloner Box" (I know the company name is dubious)
It works well even if the source device has HDCP enabled and the company has fast support.
"Mirabox Video Capture" is also good and cheap solution up to 4k. I use it for my videos.
Thanks guys - appreciate the tips and suggestions.
I ended up buying a cheap hdmi splitter box, which also solved my problem
