Formuler Z11 Pro Max Dolby TrueHD and DTS-X no passtrough

Hi guys,

So i just got the new formuler z11 pro max to replace my old Z8, the problem that i have right now is that no matter what i do i cant get audio passtrough of Dolby TrueHD and DTS-X even though when activate the surround option on the Z11 settings menu those formats show as capable.

I tried with VLC, Mx Player etc, but it always show the message "TRUEHD NOT SUPPORTED", on my Z8 the same files play without a problem and my soundbar displays what is the audio format that is playing.

I have the Z11 conected the same way i had the Z8 ( Z11 connected directly to the soundbar).

All the audio options on the Z11 are set to Passtrough, even in the developer options menu.

Can anybody help me trying to figure out the problem?

Thanks for the answer Sam, so I think that is the problem if I disconnect de Hdmi cable and plug it back in I immediately see on kodi on the sound passthrough the option for TrueHD.

Now the problem is I have to plug out and in the Hdmi cable every time I turn on the Z11.

I haven’t tested yet but do you think another Hdmi cable would fix this issue or is there another thing you thin I can try ?

I have connected directly to the sound bar and then from the soundbar into the eARC port of the tv.

I’ll try your suggestions later tonight and give you feedback.

Hi Sam, so just a quick update on my situation, for me to get complete audio passtrough every time is before I power on the Z11 I have to select first on my soundbar (JBL 9.1) the Hdmi in (since the Z11 is connected directly) and only after doing that I can power on the Z11. Weird but works every time whiteout fault otherwise I won’t get Truehd/DTS-X passtrough, I even used multiple Hdmi cables to see if it would make any difference but no the result is the same.

Just another question, while I was in the developer menu settings there is an option in the video settings called luminance peak level that is pre selected at level 4, do you know what this option is, what it does ?

My Jbl bar is already on the latest firmware available (came out about 2 weeks ago).

And like it is right now it’s not a big deal doing the same operation in a couple of weeks it will feel natural. before turning on the Z11 just have to press the button Hdmi in on the bar remote and then turn on the Z11.

About the luminance I know the definition it’s about the tvs peak brightness, I just asked about the levels because I thought you might now to what value each level represent since not all tvs have the same peak brightness, for example mine is the Samsung Q95T that has a peak brightness of 1500 nits I was wondering what value is preset at level 4 on the Z11
