    Hello,

My formuler z10 se works very fine whithout nordvpn. But, when i turn on this vpn, i have a black screen or error 401, i have tried to uninstall nordvpn, to change everything into the settings of this apps, but always nothing work!! Could you hep me?

    I've tried a couple of different vpn's.

Some of them, where Nord was one, had their ip's blocked by the iptv-supplier.

Reason is that big VPN companies like Nord rent their server space in some countries from cheap large server companies. These large server companies rent out their space to all kinds of businesses, including shady ones like for spam, malware etc.... Therefore many of these ip-ranges gets on global blacklists and is therefore automatically blocked by some iptv-providers.

I had exactly this happen to me. Try to change the VPN server location or even country. Or better yet, try a smaller VPN provider local to your country that owns their own servers. You will probably get rid of the problem that way...

    Hi.

I have the Z100 ProMax with the IR1 remote.

Suddenly my menu button doesn't work when I'm in MOL2, so I can't access my connections and other important things. Anyone else experience this? I do see the light on the Z10 flash when i press the button so it seems to send the signal...

Other questions regards the BT1 that I consider buying.

    1. Is there no way to power the tv on/off and switching source on my tv WITHOUT toggling the remote to TV-mode? IR1 can do this with dedicated buttons so I would think the more expensive BT1 could do it aswell... If not, this is a huge bummer since just using the tv-remote is easier than switch between modes.

    2. Is the BT1 compatible with the Z10 ProMax? I wonder because on your support pages it only states models up to Z8 are compatible.

    3. What can the voice control really do regarding controlling the Z10/MOL2? Can I for example tell it to change channel, mute volume, go to VOD... Basically doing the same as I do with the remote, only by voice?

    Thanks!

So when I'm watching a movie in the VOD section. If i press pause the movie will pause, but pressing play does nothing. I can't even click my way so the play button is highlighted and press OK. The only way to start the movie again is to go back, accept to stop watching the movie and then go into it again by resuming where i left off..

I have the gtv-ir1 remote, and the latest stable software (not beta).

I found another similar thread from back in October, but no solution was offered back then...

    I know all this.

I use a very good VPN provider, I've tested many different ones including different locations and so on. It's definitely not the cheapest one (firm price each month, no 90% discount when signing on for 2 years) , it's native to my country and owns their own servers instead of hiring space like most big international providers do.

With my PC i get much better speeds than with the Formuler. Which is to be expected, VPN demands some processor power to encrypt/decrypt the data.

I'm perfectly happy with 170 mbps download with the Z10. I don't think that's weird at all, i don't think it's possible to get it even close to 500 mbps with a VPN running on a machine like the Formuler...

No matter what provider i use.

So i got the Z10 ProMax a while back so thought I'd share my experiences vs the Z8.

MOL2 is essentially the Formuler so I can't say there's much difference watching TV with either box. The 2 differences that stand out are:

    1. Z10 loads the portal so much quicker. No matter if your going from stand by or shutdown the Z10 is lightning fast while the Z8 is on the slower side.

    2. I like to run VPN on the box itself and here it appears the hardware makes a difference.

I have a 500/100 Mbps fiber line, while using a VPN client on the Z8 my speed slowed to around 60/50. On the Z10 I get around 170/80... I would attribute this to the better hardware on the Z10 managing to run the VPN client effortless while the Z8 seems to choke a little bit?

So if you're just using MOL2 to watch TV, don't care about load times and don't need other apps running in the background I'd say Z8 is good enough. For me the ProMax was well worth it since i can use VPN on the box without any problems..

Just a reflection on my experience...

Works as expected on my Z8 (same as Z10). Check your Power Mode settings again.

You can check the Power Mode settings from the "Power Mode" menu on the Home Screen. Make sure it is set to: STANDBY

Tap the STB power button on the remote one time to put the device into standby mode while watching MOL2. Tap the STB power button again to wake up the Z8 and MOL2 should begin where you left off.

Ah, you mean i may not have had the Z8 on standby mode at all? I was 100% sure I had it on standby, but now i may be just 99...

Unfortunately I can't test that because I plan to sell it and reset the thing and put it back in the box.

So you mean your Z8 will go directly into MOL2 and start the last channel pretty fast, like in seconds? You don't see the Z8 loading screen and then the screen where the portal is loading in MOL2?

If so, I have to accept my Z8 was not set to standby after all...

45 seconds are i think is normaal.

Yes it was with Z8. Now with Z10 the channel is running as soon as the box starts. So obviously I feared that the connection is active.

But I did check with a mobile app for my provider, and the connection is NOT active when the box is in standby. As soon as I start the box the channel starts and the connection is activated...

So Mevi is right, it works as expected.

It's simply amazing how quick the Z10 is!

I can't upload a video but i measured more exact. From the moment I press the box power button, and the channel is up and running it takes 2.5 seconds... I don't even see a glimpse of the Z10 startup logo.

    Unbelievable!

Hope SAM can chime in and explain what changes are made to the Z10 for this giant leap in start time...

The connection does not stay active, don't worry.

Ok, good to know. But how can it open so extremely fast then? I mean it's instant, when I turn on the box, as soon as the TV gets picture the channel is playing..

Even though Z10 pro max has better hardware than Z8, there must be some difference in how they load the portal?

    A few quick questions:

With Z8 when powering off the unit i had it set to go to standby mode. When starting again I had to click on MOL2 and the portal would start to load with that percentage increase before it was completely loaded.

With Z10 i also have the shut off mode set to standby, but here, when i start the unit it will go directly to MOL2 and load the channel i last used very quick, like less than a second. No percentage loading of portal...

I do have the setting in MOL2 to load the last used portal, I'm not sure if that was the case with z8 but that also loaded the last portal, it just took much longer.

I don't have any startup app set.

So there's obviously a difference in how the portals are loaded.

Why does the Z10 load MOL2 at once even if there's no start up app stated?

Does the Z10 keep MOL2 active in memory, is that why it starts so insanely quick? If so, is my provider connection active even if the Z10 is in standby mode?

That's concerning if I only have a single line subscription and using my phone to watch something when I'm not at home.

I'm not unhappy at all with how it behaves, it's amazingly fast! I'm just concerned it will keep the connection alive which can lead to ban from provider...

I'd like to add some other findings I did, just for future benefit of others.

Even though the button method indicate to work, the OK and Source buttons did nothing when the tv was on.

The volume buttons worked as expected at once though.

I found a workaround: Still have the Z8 remote which can learn on the source button, but any remote with learnable buttons should be fine.

I did the button to button from the Magic remote to the Z8 remote, and then the same method from the Z8 remote to the Z10 remote. Unexpectedly it worked!

Have no idea why the Z10 didn't learn from the Magic on those 2 buttons, but did so doing the workaround?

Well, whatever was going on, I can now use the GTV-IR1 for all the Z10 functions plus the TV on/off, TV volume up/down, TV Source and TV OK buttons aswell...

Ok, a little update on my issue, might help other people wondering about the same thing in the future?

Got home, made sure the tv was off, went to another part of the house and did the button to button method. It worked, so now I can use the dedicated tv buttons on the IR1.

Seems the LG magic remote will transmit IR-signals when it doesn't recognize the TV being on...

Go to a super market and take your IR1 with you. Go to the TV section and "borrow" one of the LG remotes from a lower-end mode (non-Magic remote)

    or

Try the reverse and program your Magic remote to control the Formuler

(You will have limited functionality however)

    https://www.reddit.com/r/Formuler/com…quick_question/

Yeah, I still like to have all the specialized buttons for the Z10 so using the magic remote is very limiting. I did manage to make it work like that but basically it was just up/down and ok buttons.

Now I read somewhere that when the tv is turned off, the magic remote transmits IR-signals? It was a very old thread in forum though so it might not be the case today.

I'll try when I get home...

Otherwise I'll try to sneak in to to a shop and "steal" the ir-commands there..

For IR1 RCU install "Formuler Remote" App, choose IR1 and proceed with TV and Hotkeys settings.

Quick Guide how to update BT1 firmware and program hotkeys

Ok, thanks. I'll have a better look tonight, but if i remember correctly there was no option to program tv-buttons for the IR1 in the Formuler Remote app? Just the other hotkeys?

That's why I tried the "button to button" method. But of course, if as 175n says the LG remote don't do IR, that's not possible either... I don't know anyone with a LG TV and IR remote.

I tried the third party Bluetooth remote (Dreamlink) that worked flawlessly for the Z8. Everything works the same with the Z10 aswell with TV functionality and all.

Well everything... except the on/off for the box. I can't turn the box on our off with that control but every other button is fine. What's up with that? Must be a different frequency between Z8 and Z10 for the Power button specifically...

    Hi.

So i received my new Z10 ProMax with the IR1 remote yesterday. Everything was fine except i can't program the TV buttons?

I go into learning mode, get the firm light, press the TV buttons i want to program and get the slowly flashing light. But when holding the remotes close together and pressing the button on the TV remote nothing happens. I don't get the three quick flashes?

The tv is a LG with the Magic remote. I've successfully programmed the Z8 remote and a third party remote before so it shouldn't be a problem with the LG magic remote.

Anyone with an idea on how to resolve this?

    Hello

i am really disappointed with the z10 pro max. The quality and fluidity are very poor on sports channels. I'm trying the same channel with duplex app I have no problem.

for the moment. i prefer to use duplex iptv. it's really frustrating knowing the price of the device

Have you tried installing a app, like duplex for example, on the Z10? Try to use that instead of MOL2, just to test if the problems are in the box or just the MOL2 app?

    Just a thought...

Well, I really think Formuler should make it possible to rollback firmware. This "install at your own risk and you can not return to earlier firmware" is not the best strategy.

If we could rollback people wouldn't hesitate to install new firmware and bugs would be discovered much sooner.

If things go bad, just do a rollback and you're good to go again.

Good for customers and good for Formuler....

    Zico

Can you explain what you did for me i have for weeks now blackscreen with z8

    Pinnoes

I messed with it for a long time so I'm not really sure what did the trick?

Pulled the plug and let it sit for a while.

    Erased cache for mol2.

    Messed with the static/dhcp settings.

Removed the portal, set up a new one.

    Uninstalled mol2, installed again.

Nothing of the above worked, so i messed a bit more. I did the Uninstaller of mol2 and installed again, then it was OK... Have no idea why it worked the 2nd time and not the first? I'm not sure all my ethernet settings were the same at these 2 occasions so it could have been that.

Now it's static, even going thru a raspberry pi4 vpn gateway in my network. I did try with a clean internet connection without vpn aswell with no result... I don't know, everything just works suddenly...

    What you should try:

Does your portal work in other devices? Like mobile, directly from tv, pc?

If it does, then something is failing on the z8. If not, it must be your portal/ provider/isp problem.

But if it works on other devices, try to download another iptv- client on your z8, like smarters or extreme. Set them up with the same portal and try if they work.

If they do, you know it's the app mol2 that has a problem. If they don't work either, you should assume that something in the z8 has a problem streaming this content to you. Test if YouTube and Netflix can stream.

You may have to do a factory reset if that's the case and hope for the best...

I must say that I'm going from pure delight to disappointment with this machine.

Worked fine first week, then got the black screen and 10% loading.

Well, maybe it's a stroke of bad luck, factory reset and everything went even worse. Factory reset once again, manual method this time. Was very happy to see it work.

Now it's been running just fine for almost 2 weeks, but today....

MOL2 stopped loading at 10% again. Restart, unplug, tried again. Went to 100% this time but black screen on every channel.

    Reinstalled MOL2, same thing...

Am i supposed to factory reset this thing every 2 weeks? I mean, it's not the cheapest machine you can buy, I think there should be some kind of reliability...

    And before anyone asks:

Yes, I have the latest everything, been running the latest hotfix and what not without problems since I had my last misery.

No, it's not the provider. The portal works just fine on any other device and there hasn't been any downtime on their servers for a long time now...

Tried to download iptv extreme and it works there aswell. On the z8 that is.

If I sound frustrated its probably because I am. The only reason i got this was for the MOL2, and that's the only thing not working as it's supposed to....

I guess i need to factory reset once again with all the hassle it brings....

I don't think the formuler remote is adapted to work with random apps you install on the z8. It's different when installing for example Smart IPTV on your TV. Then the version of the app is specifically adjusted to work with that TV and it's remote.

With that said, I'm asking the same as Mevi: Why use another tv-app? The main (if not only?) reason to buy the z8 is for the excellent MyTVOnline2?

If you want something else, there are android boxes that have better hardware specs, newer Android version and are cheaper?

Z8 lacks in many areas, but the MTOL2 is what makes it stand out and makes it worth every penny....

I only use wireguard. You can't say one is faster than the other for everyone. Different vpn's are better or worse in different locations of the world.

I have tried Surfshark, for me it was not the fastest by any means. Nordvpn was a lot faster altough it had other negative aspects.

Where I live I've found 2 other vpn providers that gave me maximum speed and really good demerit policies. For example servers without harddrives which mean they can't even log traffic...

So yeah, I suggest trying out different ones and see which one fit your needs and location best.

I use vpn, tried a few, but I've found a big difference in speed if i get a vpn from my own country with lots of servers to choose from.

Surfshark were slow for me even if I used a server here. Nordvpn was fast but some of their servers were blocked by my provider and even by fast.com...

I'm trying a native vpn now and get real good speed from the z8, 220/90 out of a 250/100 fiber line....

So, I managed to get my machine up and running, with the latest firmware.

Here's what I did, maybe it helps someone else who has problems?

    * Got problems with screen go black in mol2. Checked with other devices and provider server status. It worked everywhere else and no downtime on servers, so... Tried to pull the plug for a while, no difference.

    * Updated to latest firmware and latest mol2 to try and fix it. Didn't help, in fact, now i can't even log into the portal. Stayed at 10% when i tried...

    * Did a factory reset thru the settings menu. When it came back on the screen the resolution was way off and the screen switched between showing and turning black every other second. Managed to update to latest firmware despite of this. When it restarted the machine was updated but the flickering was still there.

    * Pulled the plug and let it be for the night. This morning it was even worse, couldn't get any picture at all. The z8 lamp switched between red and green every other minute or so...

    * Ok, time for the big guns. Removed everything non-original like usb storage and another USB air mouse remote.

Changed hdmi- cable and switched hdmi-port on the tv. No change...

    * Did a manual reset following this: https://support.formuler.tv/kb/article/61-…8-zalpha-z-neo/

    * It came back, no flickering and resolution looked normal. Updated to latest everything. Mol2 got the latest 1.4.75. Went in there and made a new portal again.

Success! Everything is back as before, portal works..

I don't know if maybe the manual reset is cleaner than the menu settings one? Or if it was the hdmi-swap, but it seems unlikely since it's been working perfect before and shouldn't affect login to a portal...

Anyway, will add some apps and put back my storage and the other remote, set my ethernet back to static so we'll see, but so far it looks good....

Edit: just remembered that after my first menu factory reset my static ip info was still in there. There must definitely be a difference between the two types of resets? Everything should go back to factory settings but it didn't..

Ok, now I'm also with a non functional MOL2.

Got the black screen, checked provider status and with my phone. Everything was OK. So i ran the updates....

Deleted the portal, made a new one, pulled the plug and waited 20 minutes.

Tried again, portal loads 10% but nothing more. Can still log in with other devices so no problem on the provider side...

What now? Factory reset? Doesn't seem to help other people here?

Maybe formuler should roll out the latest working firmware and MOL2 as a new version to temporarily fix this...

    Hi,

For you and me it's easy to install from Google Play but not easy for others ...

Why not put the latest version in Marker ???

What's the problem downloading from Google play? Not trying to be disrespectful, just curious. Those who don't have a Google account, just create one and download whatever you want...

Updating your firmware is not always better.

I've got the same issue, can't connect to my portal anymore since FW 1.4.75.

Rolling back can't be done. Factory reset doesn't work.

Once it's fixed I'm never ever gonna update again!

Yeah, I'd really like to know why Formuler can't make it possible to install older fw?

"Update at your own risk" and impossible to rollback. People will hesitate to install new fw which leads to longer time before bugs are discovered which in turn leads to more work for Formuler....

yes. Get for example a Netgear GS105. Cheap and works great. Put the main rj45 from your main switch in the first port, and the z8 and tv rj45's in any other ports.

Best thing about the Unifi flex mini though is that it can be powered by PoE. It means the RJ45 from the main switch will power the flex mini so you don't need a power adapter for it. But then you of course must have PoE out on the main switch....

The TV/source button is set like the original control. You hold TV button for a couple of seconds, so it goes into learning mode. Then you press what button you want to program, hold the tv control close to this one and press the button on the tv control you want to send.

Was no manual in the package. Found someone taking about it on YouTube, but there really is nothing to do. Just put the usb thingy into the z8, put batteries in the remote and everything just works. Don't even have to activate it in the z8

    settings...

I found that to use the air mouse you have to press the cursor button, but you can use the arrow buttons at the same time. When you've pressed the buttons a couple of times the cursor will disappear. That's nice, so you don't have to press cursor button to go back to using buttons like some other remotes do....
