Be sure CEC is disabled on the Z11. Your TV or other equipment may be turning it on. I had that problem with my Samsung TV polling for CEC clients even when the TV was "off".

Hello again! I've started having a problem with random voice sync sometimes. I have a few channels in my list that are duplicates, that's fine. Sometime I bring up a channel and the voice is about 7-10 seconds behind the video. I thought maybe it was just a provider problem; so today that channel happens to have a problem, fine. But recently I've noticed I can bring up a duplicate channel and sync is fine and when I switch back to the other lagging duplicate, THAT'S FINE TOO! Is this just more MTV2/Android weirdness?

Bum cable or switch port?

Peder,
Not sure what you mean?

I don't use a kbord, but a BT mouse works great on the soft kbord.

There may be a issue with the USB. Flash drives are not generally meant to be written/rewritten thousands of times. If you use timeshift, every time you change channels the timeshift file gets deleted and restarted. That could be dozens or hundreds of times a day. Personally, I use an old laptop spinny drive in a cheap enclosure. Much more durable.
-
I enabled Samba on my Z8 and attached to the Recordings share remotely to manage bulk deletions. That makes it pretty easy.
-
A very long Toslink cable and adapt that if you have to.

Something like this? No experience with these and quality might be iffy, but they are cheap.

Hi all. I have been trying to add the Forum RSS feed to Outlook and cannot. When I fill in the line for the feed and hit "Add", it returns nothing. Normally there is an "Are you sure?" type dialog. It just closes and doesn't create the folder. I've tried validating the feed at https://validator.w3.org/feed/check.cgi and though it shows a couple minor things, I think it should be working. Anyone using this feed with Outlook? Thanks for reading and any replies.

Good day. I've had an unusual problem pop up. I have a Z8 with an attached 1TB hard drive in a USB enclosure. Timeshift is enabled. At times the picture will lock up with the spinning circle like it is buffering. But when I look at the traffic graph displayed by my firewall, I still see data being sent to the Z8 but the _timeshift.ts_ file stops growing. It's just the laptop I'm typing this on and the Z8 on the network. It is fixed if I change to another channel which deletes the timeshift file and stars a new one. I then change back to the previous channel and it's fine again.
Software is up to date. I know I can create a log somehow, but I can't seem to find that info.
Any thoughts? Thanks for reading and any replies.

The Box use smart recording. Means even if in this state, the box boot earlier and start Mol2 for scheduled recording.
Thanks, Sam, I didn't know. =b

Turn off permissions for apps to wake up formuler box
Thanks for the reply, but no apps, even system apps, have that permission (at least visible). Only storage.
However, I may have solved the problem. I set the Z8 to record a program overnight, set it to "Power Off", and the program recorded normally... The box was also still powered OFF when I got up today.
I was under the impression that "Off" meant "Off" and no recording would occur?
-
Set your z8 to go into deep standby (power off) and test again.
I will, but of course that will disable recording AFAIK.
-
Recently I've found my Z8 powered on when I get up in the morning. Sometimes it is after a program has been recorded overnight, other times not. Z8 power is set to Standby. CEC is enabled on my TV and AVR (required for ARC) but it is disabled on the Z8. This is a pretty big deal, since I am on a metered plan. Restarting or cold boot doesn't seem to help. SW is up to date.
Any thoughts? Or do I need to factory reset yet again? Wait until it happens again then send logs?
Thanks for reading and any replies.

You can try going to the network's website and looking at their schedule for a rebroadcast.
-
I get this on my Z8. I've had a new provider for about a month but I don't know if it's them or me. If I hit "OK", then I either get an animation that "the stream is not available" or a blank screen. Bouncing the channel fixes it eventually. On a side note, new provider doesn't offer "catch up" which I really miss.
-
Could be provider load or transient Internet hiccups anywhere from ISP to provider. If restarting all your devices doesn't help, it's probably upstream.
-
Is it normal for the time and date to reset if I reboot the box? Cause I am on wireless it doesn't automatically get the time from the network when it first boots up.
Think so. AFAIK, there is no onboard battery to support the clock like a PC has. Make sure you are set to get time from network and not manually.
-
Pick your VPN provider, then sign up online, install the corresponding client app from the Google Store or the Formuler Market, and have at it. The provider will have instructions on their website for Android.

I find the same problem. I normally have mine set to power off because of a bug where, even with 2 connections available, it will fail to allow watching one program while recording another.
Perhaps if you set it to standby it will retain the current EPG state. HTH
-
Every time I power on now, the EPG is 4 hours behind. A Refresh in MTVO2 corrects it. Tried changing time settings, clearing cache, clearing EPG, none help. I'd un/reinstall MTVO2 if I thought I wouldn't lose all my groups yet again. Such a PITA.
-
Now it's all mixed up. Some channels are correct, some are way off. UTC/Normal doesn't seem to make a difference.
Same here, I’ve tried a few things which seem to work for a short period of time them back again to being off. It seemed when I turned off Show Catchup in EPG Grid option it resolved it but then the next day it was back to being 4 hours off again. Tried changing from UTC back to Normal that didn’t seem to fix it either.
I just disabled automatic time/date and set the time/date manually and refreshed and right now seems to be fixed. Portal is set to UTC/None now. Try that and post your result, thanks.
EDiT - Hmm, rebooted and the time reverted as below. Aren't time/date setting maintained over reboots?
Where does the device pull its time/date from when on Automatic? Some NTP Pool somewhere?
-
Good morning. For the past few days when my Z8 powers on (from off, not standby) it seems the EPG is off by 4 hours (for example, displaying listings from 1 PM instead of 9AM. My TZ is UTC -5 (CDT). Tried changing EPG mode from UTC to Normal and back without effect. Seems like deleting or refreshing the EPG data seems to help, but that's not something that's been needed in the past. Do you think it's something with NTP or just a random hiccup? Please don't say just reset the device to factory, as that is getting pretty old.

Thanks for reading and any replies.

Don't accept the pop-up of the installation of new version. uninstall and try it again!
I think you misread, everything is working with new Market app. Pop-up only offers uninstall/cancel anyway.
-
Download 'unlinked' from the 'market' - put the library code 'formuler' - Install NF app
Tried that yesterday, no worky.
-
Uninstalled
Rebooted
Reinstalled from Market
Open and received message that there was an update which took me to Google Play and a message that the NF app was not compatible.
Did not update.
Re-opened and logged in.
Worked.
-
Yes, NF working on all other devices; phone, PC, Smart TV. Not them, def us.
-
Same here, too, on Z8.
Probably them.Watched all last night no issue.Netflix down or not working properly? Current problems, status and outages | Downdetector
-
Possibly not the same issue, but I have seen similar happen with regular timeshift. For example, I change to a channel, a new timeshift file starts, and after a half hour or so if I pause for say 5-10 minutes and return, when unpaused it will start at the beginning of the timeshift file rather than where it was paused. Not a show-stopper and not easily repeatable.
-
Did this help your issue Provels?
Yes. These days, unless I know I want to record something overnight and need to use standby, I have the box set to power off .
-
Had it happen to me once, but just paused for 10 minutes and started right up. Could it be a provider thing, where they terminate the connection if idle?
-
Just keep repeating, "I'm not paying $200 a month..."
-
Other than trying it in all the HDMI inputs that are available, that's all I got. I use a regular Z8 in an Onkyo AVR.
