  • Smarttube disappeared

    I've got several GTV's and I noticed that recently the Smarttube app on all boxes was uninstalled.

    Reinstalled it with Downloader but I think it's odd. Is it due to a (silent) Android update?

    Furthermore, all the GTV's show incidentally hick ups/buffering on several apps (i.e. NLZiet). On other devices (Apple TV, tablet) no hick ups.

    I experience something similar on the Z mini.

    When I pair 2 BT remotes, only one is able to adjust the volume.

    Run into the same issue, but with FastestVPN on my Formuler GTV. Solution for me was to download the APK from the website. Perhaps the same will do the trick for ExpressVPN?

  • Warning about counterfeit Formuler GTV-IR1 remotes

    I ordered two GTV-IR via Amazon.nl. However, they were not in a blister package but in a transparent plastic bag. Sent them back to the seller because I didn't trust it.

    All the genuine markings as mentioned in the FP were present. Could it be that they are genuine?
    Perhaps a sort of oem-version instead of retail?

    Here you go, the GTV's SoC is the Amlogic S905X2, GPU ARM Mali-G31 MP2.

    That's the disadvantage of hardware. Specs are improving constantly, what you buy now will probably be worthless e-waste in a decade. I currently own 3 GTV's and a Z8 Pro and although the Z8 pro performs excellent for IPTV, other apps (i.e. F1TV) do not work as well as on the GTV. Plus, the AndroidTV UI suits me just perfectly, Android OTT doesn't.

    It's great that Formuler brings out software/firmware updates for 'older' hardware (I recently received an update for the Z8 pro). :thumbs_up:

    Right now, I'm looking around for a AndroidTV (hardware) upgrade to replace the Z8 (which I will give away to a friend). It seems Formuler will not replace/upgrade the AndroidTV boxes in the near future, so if I want something beefier, my options are *********.

    On the other hand, I really appreciate the software updates and affordable Formuler hardware options, i.e. remote controls.

  • EPG sync issues

    Experiencing the same issue, setting EPG to UTC doesn't solve the problem for me.

    When I set EPG offset to 0 and EPG to normal, EPG data in the 'Guide' mode and the EPG channel mode (press "Right" when the info bar is visible) the times are correct. However, when I switch channel, press 'INFO' or press "OK" on the remote control, the program info differs 2 hours from the EPG.

    Tried several offset settings (Normal, UTC, several offset values), cleared EPG cache, then (after the EPG data is loaded again) I get various results:

    EPG Normal:

    EPG Guide OK, EPG Info OK, Info -2hr

    EPG UTC:

    EPG Guide OK, EPG Info OK, Info -2hr

    EPG UTC, offset +2hr:

    EPG Guide OK, EPG Info +2hr, Info OK

    There seems to be a difference between the EPG of a channel, the EPG in the Guide and the Info (program info in channel list and program info in the info bar).

    I have 2x GTV's where this phenomenon occurs.

    Any way to fix this?
