SOLVED
It finally works: Because of the user now getting disabled in the NAS, I knew the Formuler was accessing it albeit with an error, so I reset the user and connection settings from the beginning (not factory reset though). I think the resetting of the static IP fixed it, but am not 100% certain, it could have been the resetting of the user and shared folder in the NAS (QNAP).

Samba is activated on my QNAP, does not seem to help
I tried File Manager and in NFS, I do see my NAS, but only the public files for guests; so I tried to connect to those shared folders via Network Storage, but still get the Fail to Connect error.
Something new: the QNAP user I am using now gets disabled at every attempt to mount the Network Storage (Too many failed logins) ; I checked and double checked password, tried with different password, even without a password and still I get the Fail to Connect error. At least now I know the Formuler sees the NAS, now I just need to figure out why the password is not sent properly to the NAS.
What happens when you give your Formuler static ip, all rights and let the box connect with NAS without User and Password?
Hi, nothing happens: my Formuler already has a static IP and I get same error when I try connecting without name and password; in fact I get no login fails in my NAS logs at all, so that tells me the Formuler does not reach the NAS.
I'm thinking it has to be either the Name or Network Path fields that are not populated correctly.
Is the Name field used by Formuler to connect or is it a plain ID text field?
The Network Path field, does it need a special way to enter the NAS connection information? I ask because when you click on Add Server in Network Storage, the field is already populated by 2 slashes (//). I tried 2 ways (without the quotes): "192.168.1.200/Formuler" and "//192.168.1.200/Formuler"
Pet Peeve: incredibly annoying that you have to re-enter the information when you want to edit a field

Hi, just received my new Formuler Z8 Pro and trying to configure it.
When I try to connect (Mount) the network storage I keep getting Fail to Connect Check Network Parameters.
My NAS is a QNAP T451+ and it works perfectly fine (has been for years). IP is verified and I can ping the Formuler from the NAS (they are on same subnet at this time). Wired connection direct to switch, static IP. Network connection is working fine (it has Internet access).
On NAS, I created a service user for Formuler (STV01) and a shared folder (/Formuler), account has R/W rights to folder.
Settings:
Name: XXXXX
Network Path: 192.168.1.200/Formuler
Username: STV01
Password: xxxxx
Reconnect on startup: on
When I click Mount, I keep getting Fail to Connect. I tried with different users (admin account), same result; as well tried with fake account and get same error, so it is not the NAS refusing access, the Formuler never gets there.
Haven't been able to SSH on Formuler (guess feature is not enabled).
