Is there some reason you don't want to use Formuler's MyTVOnline 2 that comes installed with the Z8? I used different flavors of smarters in the past, and found they all lacked a lot of features I love with my old customized Kodi TV guide addon. If your provider gives you URLs for M3U and xmltv data, why not plug them into the Z8's portal settings and enjoy its native EPG. I dropped smarters pretty quickly after I set up my Z8 and never looked back. I'm just getting Kodi set up again to use its searchable EPG that's about the only thing I miss that MTVO-2 lacks.

Oops.. Neither the Kodi Backup addon nor the default Kodi system File Manager seems to want to either backup or access the main '/Kodi/addons' folder in Formuler's Android filesystem.

I managed to get most files for the full Kodi installation copied to a USB thumb drive in Windows via Kodi's File Manager before it choked and exited. The files the backup addon saved to the USB stick on the Z8 were only those in /Kodi/userdata.

I managed to get the all Kodi's files in Windows synced to the USB drive with Windows Explorer, but with no access to the complete installation in Formuler's Android, I'm left scratching my head. The default folder for Kodi in Android is apparently /data, but Formuler seems to have blocked access to it.

It dawned on me I used to use the Kodi / XBMC File Manager to do this manually. I'll back my Z8 up and have a go at it. Thanks oh masked seducer.

Is there any way to copy a customized Kodi addon's folder to '/kodi/userdata/addon_data/[addon folder]' from a Windows build to Kodi on a Z8 Pro?

Have the developers been looking into the possibility of implementing this function since this thread was posted last year? Searching an EPG for program air dates seems to be a pretty essential feature in most EPGs people use a lot. I depend on other software to grab some current program information to be able to search. But I've only been able to configure it for a handful of my provider's channels. It'd be really great to have the option in MyTVOnline2.

That seems a bit radical, but I was coming to the same conclusion. I backed up the Z8 last June, but I see I updated the firmware in November. So that's not an option. Rufus is an old friend, and I have new USB drive on the way.

So after the factory reset, is there an option to install MOL2 from within the box? Or do I need to download it to a USB drive and install it from there?

I've been loving my Z8 Pro for over 6 months now. But a few weeks ago I kept getting 2 error messages related to recordings: "Warning, Storage Disconnected." and "MyTvOnline2 isn't responding." Following a solution posted in the forums here, I ended up reformatting the 128 GB USB flash drive to NTFS again, but still got the errors. Things went back to a relatively normal state with a 64 GB flash drive, and I'm not getting those errors anymore. But I keep having problems scheduling recordings. At first scheduling shows to record went fine. But in the past few days none of the ones I've scheduled get recorded. I can manually set a show to record from the EPG grid. But that's about it. I've searched for other solutions, but haven't come up with anything. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
