Does this update contain fixes for the xbox controller? Or are those fixed in the new Z12 formuler device?
I’m considering buying the formuler z12 because my z11 does not have an ethernet port and thats better to have for cloud gaming.

See the money you lost as a cheap paid-for life lesson, next time you know to check for regio locks and contact the seller about such things before buying.

You always can send what you bought from amazon or other stores retour with as reason ‘defect’
Usually these bigger stores do not even ask a specific reason to fill out, most of the time you just get a choice of a few reasons and submit the device for retour.
This way you can get some money back except the import costs etc.
I would do this in your situation as the device is useless for you because of the regio lock.

I found a fix that worked for me!
If you go to the formuler settings and change energy mode to shutdown instead of standby it fixes the issue, the formuler will startup with the correct resolution.

This is a rather small but VERY annoying bug for people who do more with their formuler device than watching iptv, like cloud gaming or running game emulation with apps like retroarch. Im using the formuler device daily and this is becoming a chore.
If this doesnt get fixed im just not going to buy and recommend formuler devices in the future, i will instead tell people that it is a device for old people that are stuck in the old days and recommend buying a fire tv stick instead.

I followed the instuctions and it now shows ‘Beta Test Software’ software update 0
Saying that current version is the Latest.
Strange because i never enabled beta test software before. -

Don`t have Xbox Controller so can`t much tell about this and can`t test to reproduce. Try to unpair the controller from all devices you have and then pair with the Z11. After restart the Bt needs few sec. to initialise the pairing.
My xbox controller is only used with the formuler device.
It is strange that after linking it that you have to re-link it again with the formuler device after the controller shuts off.
Definitly a bug that needs fixing if you guys care about cloud gaming which your device is perfect for other than this bug. Cloud gaming is taking over and only becomes more populair as time passes, because of that i think its worth looking into.

Using cloud gaming services like Boosteroid, Nvidia GeforceNow, Airgpu, Shadowpc.
Im basicly using my formuler z11 max device as an powerful gaming pc this way without having to run a real pc and pay for its costs.

zenguy If your tv is 1080p 60HZ then there is a serious bug if auto resolution set it to 4k because "auto" means it's pulling EDID given by your tv and if that EDID says 4k it's because your tv has 4k capabilities.
As for the lock resolution i've asked for that long time ago. Not yet i'm afraid.
My 1080p tv has HDR support.
I noticed that alot of app developers automaticly assume you use a 4k resolution screen whenever hdr is enabled. I turned hdr off in my formuler settings. Not sure what my tv is doing!
Im using a cheap tv from the ‘peaq’ brand paid around 150 euros for it new at Mediamarkt (a huge dutch-netherlands store.)
My xbox series s wont even enable hdr unless the tv supports 4k.

This beta update seems to fix it i believe. I have almost no apps on this box so factory reset wont do anything for me.
Let us know if its fixed after maybe a month use.
A factory reset usually does fix things, it cleans house.

Turns out its all random. Now after fully shutting down my formuler device and starting it the controller wont be able to reconnect.
I suggest coding/pushing a update that keeps listening to any xbox controller connect attempts no matter what state.
As it is right now is really annoying having to unlink my controller everytime just to relink it again.
Im open to sharing any logs or whatever. -
Hi,
I manually set my resolution in the formuler screen settings to 1080p, 60hertz. My tv is 1080p, 60 hertz.
Randomly my set resolution gets overriden and i check resolution again and suddenly its set at 4k (auto).
It looks like either formuler or some apps mess with my resolution settings.
My suggestion would be to add a lock resolution feature or to just not override my manually set resolution.

New update:
Standby mode messes it up!
My xbox controller was still linked and i put the formuler device in standby mode again, my controller goes off too, then i turn on (wakeup) my formuler device again and turn on my xbox controller and now it cant reconnect any longer, xbox controller shows its trying to connect until it gives up.
Now fully shutting down the device again and booting it back up the controller no longer reconnects, i suspect standby mode bricks it.

I might’ve fixed it by linking the controller again and then fully shutdown the formuler device, after that i booted it back up and turned on my xbox controller, it now connected instantly and worked.
Usually i dont fully shutdown my device, it goes to Standby (sleep.)
I’ll report back if any changes.

Cant send a log when the box freezes so not sure how to send anything when it is completely frozen. Have to unplug the box to get it to work.
That does not sound good!
Maybe some app you installed causes instability?
In your position i would try a factory reset of the formuler device, boot it back up when its done, update to latest version, start using it again.
Backup any important files or logins if needed before doing this because a reset erases everything!

Hi,
I’m using my formuler box mainly for cloud gaming using the Boosteroid app with my Xbox Series Controller connected tru Bluetooth.
It all works fine except that whenever my controller turns off i always have to go back to my formuler bluetooth settings, unlink the xbox controller, link it again, every time!
Also connecting the controller tru bluetooth sometimes take a few tries,
while the formuler box searches for bluetooth devices i have to hold the xbox controller resync/link button multiple times and then select it in found device.
Im going tru this process every day when i want to play a game its becoming a chore.
It would be great if someone can fix this bug, much appreciated!

I don’t think there is much new to add because the box already is stable and works like it should (atleast for me.)
I actually was surprised it still got an update its been a while since it released.

It is a more costly alternative if you play games alot, if not it may be cheaper because you get billed each hour of usage.

I started looking for alternative and now i found better.
Im using now airgpu.com in combination with the android tv app Moonlight.
Works much better since they got datacenter nearby with better connectivity. -
I want to make this work again badly,
I’d even give formuler devs my paid-for shadow account login so they can test/fix. I keep paying for it.

The shadow app stopped working with formuler z11 pro max.
It hard crashes the entire formuler device after the shadow app is about to stream stage..
I am working with the shadow team to find the cause and solve it as best a remote customer can.
Maybe the formuler devs can fix it? I’ve searched around google for a fix and i saw on reddit people with the same device have this exact same issue in the past (like 2 years ago) that does not give me much hope that it’ll get resolved any time soon, but i still request help with this because it is better than ignoring the problem and switch back to apple tv to use shadow. -

You probably could pair a controller with bluetooth but still its such small screen, i can’t understand mobile gaming and why it has priority over android tv.

Yes try switching usb ports.
I’ve had to do that in the past because keyboard didnt work in usb 2.0 port, had to switch it up to usb 3.0 port.

If you try to get official certificate, you must pay like crazy and full-fill all expectations from Netflix. 4K Netflix content is for the Box like Z11 no problem.
That you have to pay for certification is bad, you have made a proper box and then they try to make you pay them while it should be the other way around! They should be happy that many boxes uses them.

I guess most people really do use formuler for iptv mainly having access to much more than what is on netflix already and because of that obtaining a netflix license is not interesting for them. That is how i see it now

He can watch Netflix on Z11 but only with mobile version steering with mouse at SD quality. Install the version from Market.
For Android Version with HD and 4k, Formuler do not have certificate from Netflix.
Is it possible to get this certificate?
I’m sure the box is powerful enough and supports it codec.

it is a lowvoltage powerhouse, i use it as full gaming pc with the http://www.shadow.tech service and your device as advertised uses 12 watt max powervoltage, that is so much less compared to using a gaming pc - a gaming pc similiar to the stats of a shadow pc atleast uses 750watt power.
i also liked the background of the moon, would be cool if background change every day like windows has.

You guys are to thank for this really building Formuler as it is today, it is fast, takes into account privacy (local network doesnt share by default & turn bluetooth off for pairing to shield away pesky neighbors) have a own marketplace to avoid having to log into google.
honestly i been using shadow pc on this device now for a while and it is better performing compared to apple tv 4k.
