That is an incorrect assessment. I recently tested fifteen different providers with the objective of replacing my current one, so sixteen in all, all using Xtream codes. My current iptv provider does not work at all with "Default", so I had to switch to "Alternate", and that is also the case for most of the providers I tested, but not all. So it's hit and miss. That is why it should be modifiable. Anyway, regardless of all this, any product with configuration settings should always have the option of allowing all settings to be changed. That's product management 101.

Hi,
When we configure a content source in MOL3 (Z11 pro and Z11 pro max) we can set the EPG mode to either Default or Alternate. But once the content source has been created and we wish to edit it to change the epg mode, the edit screen does not display the EPG mode and we therefore can not modify it. The only way it can be modified is by deleting the content source and creating a new one with the modified EPG mode, which is a pain. Any chance this problem can be solved in the next MOL3 release?
Thanks
Ben

Hi Sam,
I dropped a note to Peter with the details of what happened. The short of it is:
- I did a simple reset of the Formuler and the fast forward no longer caused it to crash and corrupt the m3u8 files of short recordings (less than an hour)
- but when I recorded a 7 hour show and fast forwarded through it, the viewer crashed and the recording's m3u8 file became unreadable
I'll continue making some tests over the next few days until I can document a test scenario that invariably causes the same problems, which I'll send to Peter. Do you want me to keep you updated here also?

Hi Sam. I did some more testing. Same thing with 1min interval. Even if I slightly use the fast forward (press once, then wait a few seconds, press again once, then wait a few seconds, etc) the viewer eventually abruptly closes, and when I return to the list of recordings, the recording I was watching shows a duration of 0, and the viewer refuses to open it. If I put the usb key in a pc and try to open the m3u8 file VLC tells me it is unreadable, but it is able to open and read the ts files.

Thanks for the reply Sam. That is how I formatted it, using Rufus and the parameters shown (NTFS, 4096, etc). I used vconsole.com flash drive tester 1.14 to measure the write access speed and to test the entire key. There were no failures.
Also worth noting, this happens when the Z11 is not recording something else while I'm viewing a recorded video, so the viewer is the only application making significant drive access.
I can reproduce the problem at will when the fast forward interval is set to 10s. I'll do some testing with a longer interval tonight and will get back to you with the results.

Hi, When I view a multi-hour recording using the mol3 player, if I exit the player i've had a number of instances where the recording then shows 0 time in the list of recordings and I can no longer open the file. If I remove the usb key and put it in a pc, VLC tells me the m3u8 file is unreadable, but the TS files are perfectly readable. I suspect this happens after I used the right and left keys on the remote to fast-forward and rewind in the video and then exit the player, but cannot state for sure. I've had this problem with multiple different usb 3.0 keys, all formatted NTFS 4096 (per other thread here) and with a write access speed of 30MBps or more. Thanks for your help.
