internet speed is 100 down/10up but i see that it goes down to 30-40 depending on the time of the day is what i saw from running speed tests from google and speedtest all day.
i have 4 providers right now that i am testing with.
i forgot to do the buffer test, will try and post back.
thank you for helping
PS:
mytvonline did some sort of a quick update today on my box(downloaded an update really fast) and has been randomly crashing a lot today.
few times after box turns on, portal loads up empty, have to restart again.
once, could not turn on the box using remote, stuck on red light, had to unplug power cord.

Just enable the "External Video Player" option in the mytvonline settings and use mxplayer or VLC. No reason you need to stop using MOL
mine did not have either of those players, after i enabled external player, it just started playing using android built in player.
so i am guessing i have to install both these players, but then after that, how will i get to choose between the two?
thank you

yes it comes in the box, but disassembled into two pieces.
antenna and adapter, you have to connect both

Guys, I was also experiencing these buffering issues, wasn’t since a few updates back this problem started with me.
Tried everything as listed here in these forums, I just updated to new Beta firmware, and I’ve been buffer FREE!
Want to thank you guys over at Formuler 👍
Finally I can watch a show without wanting to toss my remote into the screen watching those loading death wheels show up!
Afraid of updating again and problem shows up.
i cant watch any VOD content without buffering.
i compared it to mag box which worked fine with the same VOD content, after comparing all the settings i found out it was set to 30 seconds as buffer. whereas max for formuler box is ten seconds.

Trying to understand your need for a longer buffer.
Also, I think you don't understand the "Buffer Time" setting in the Settings menu.
Can you answer the following questions?
- What is your internet download speed as reported from the Fast.com app available for download in the Market?
- How many different portals/services have you tried with your device?
- How many seconds of ACTUAL buffer do you have?
- Start MOL and watch a channel for around 5 minutes.
- Remove the network cable or shut off your wireless AP
- Watch the TV screen and time how long the video keeps playing after the internet is cut.
i also have a mag box with the same provider, it never buffers in live or VOD. so i have been spending lots of time looking at all the settings, finally found out that the mag box buffer is set to 30 seconds, so thats why i was requesting.
the rest i am going to try and post back
have tried three different providers now.
can you please enlighten me regarding the buffer information, would love to read more about it.

Try to change to VOD external player in your MOL settings and test again.
Tested VOD few minutes ago on 3 different providers, all works fine.
sam,
how can i change the buffer size settings for the external player, where exactly are they ?
i looked around and i can find no settings anywhere, i was hoping i could change encoder, buffer etc...
thank you

another thing i noticed after comparing is that the mag box is set to 30 seconds as buffer, and that seems to work great for online as well as VOD content. if i pause the VOD it continues downloading it and a light grey bar shows that, just like youtube progress bar, however formuler doesnt seem to do anything when you pause it.
i hope this will get implemented in formuler box as well.

so you are saying plugging the box directly to the internet works fine?
will a dmz work the same then?

I have a Z7+ box. Some of the TV series my IPTV provider offers do not play in MyTV Online.
As an example, there are five Viking series. Series 1,2,3 and 5 give the error message " Can't play this video. Please try again later". Bizarrely Series 4 plays OK.
My provider tells me all series play OK on other platforms. I can confirm this as I also use the service with VLC and Kodi on PC.
However I think MAG boxes may have a similar issue.
I installed the Kodi app on the Formuler Z7+ and loaded my suppliers zip file to enable their package. All the Viking series played OK through Kodi. So it's not a problem my supplier feels they should resolve.
Does this suggest there may be a codec issue in MyTv Online?
just restart the box, i have this issue all the time. restarting seems to fix it, most of the time.

After setting mine to static IP my buffering seems to have stoped.
can you please tell me step by step so i can try the same? when i try in formuler box, it goes right back to automatic/dhcp. wonder how people are doing it?
did you do it in your router or in formuler settings?
i am taking my box to try it on various different places on different isps. lets see how it works. i will post back.

i purchased a formuler W2 wifi adapter and tested it. exact same issues show up on the wifi connection as were on the wired connection.

right here

Dear Developers,
can you please change the max buffer size from 10 seconds to 30 seconds please!!!
-
i am on the latest updates and still have buffering issues.
-
where/how can we ask the developers to increase the buffer setting in formuler from 10 seconds max, to something like 30 seconds or more?
-
any new news on buffering issues?
-
Sounds like your box is faulty.
i dont think so. the buffering is not 24/7. but just enough to cause issues while watching. another mag box does nt have issue. dreamlink t2 also has similar but very little buffering compared to the z7+
Anyone know how the links are served through MAG? I know for sure I buffer more on my Z7+ with my IPTV provider when using &format=ts, the little signal bar will actually show 0-1 line using ts. Once I change it to &format=m3u8 I will then get the full 3 bars. This is using MyTVOnline, so I'm thinking MAG also serves out the same &format=ts links with no option to change that. That's just my guess as to the buffering problem with MyTVOnline and using MAG vs ts/m3u8 links.
And also, there is definitely something going on between the router and the Z7+. Using DD-WRT on my router with VPN under OpenVPN Client would actually not allow my Z7+ to boot up, stuck on the starting circles, it was just a random thought that the router caused it and I disconnected the LAN cable and the Z7+ booted up fine again. Right now I'm using the VPN on a SECOND router still under DD-WRT but using the L2TP method instead of OpenVPN Client, and that has no problems and I get a very nice 90Mbps.
my mag box on same network, same provider same everything works just fine while my formuler will be randomly buffering. Mag not even a single hiccup.

spoke too soon, it has not resolved the bufering issues. they are back.
-
so is your buffering problem now resolved???
-
so i have found partial success,
i put a cooling fan under formuler and it seems to help as it buffers a little less and i keep restarting the box whenever buffering is really bad and then it works fine for a while.
however the main issue of buffering all the time still exists, however i thought this might help some, as it helps.
-
Doubt it would be an isp issue (seeing as you used to have fast zapping of channels and now you say you don’t). I have two providers loaded onto my Formuler box, one of them has much faster switching/zapping. So I think a lot of it is related to the provider.
Regarding your buffering theory, if after you restart and your channel is now good, if you go to another channel will it also be good or be buffering?
no, from what i tested, the buffering comes back once you change channels.
right now it seems like might be a driver issue with the ethernet port?
-
if the usb adapter resolves the issue? would that mean its a driver issue for the wired connection on the box?
-
i have found a temporary solution for all the buffering, need to test it more to confirm if this works all the time.
go to the channel that is buffering, while watching the channel, restart your box, now after the restart, the channel seems to work fine if you don't change channels.
i am also noticing another issue now, channels that would change instantly, now they are taking extra time(1-4 seconds depending on channels) is this a provider issue or more of a isp issue?
-
i can barely watch with buffer set to 10seconds. every few minutes for 30 seconds or more it just buffers.
-
well, i am running the same provider on three boxes, Mag, dreamlink t2 and z7+.
only z7+ is buffering.
can you please let me know if the usb>ehternet adapter resolves your issues?
-
yes hardwired to lan port.
was told to update then do a factory reset, did that, and still buffering like crazy.
-
i am having the same buffering issues. have started a new thread too. i tested using a mag box and dreamlink t2, surprisingly they work fine and have no buffering
-
i am having trouble with buffering. updated box to latest firmware, then did a factory reset. reboot, update box to latest software/firmware still the same buffering issue
got a mag device and a dreamlink t2, both seem to have no issues at all. they working fine with no buffering at all.
please help.

i am having the same issue, i hope a fix is found soon.
