The hub shoots IR everywhere. I just verified, if I set it so the Z7+ is only set to only be controlled by the hub, it still receivers IR commands even with the Z7+ on the 2nd shelf. I can see the little LED flashing on the front of the Z7+ confirming it's getting IR. Also if I hit the navigation buttons it starts controlling the ZVOX, so the same issue I had before. It definitely needs to be isolated to only send commands to the IR blaster and not the hub.

Tested hooking up the IR mini blaster 2 and positioning that right in front of the ZVOX. Set Harmony to only send ZVOX commands to IR mini blaster 2 (port 2). Works as expected. Doesn't interfere with the Z7+ on the 2nd shelf. Just looks a little messing. I'm going to see about getting some precision IR blasters..either the Logitech ones or the normal tear drop style ones with a shield + 3.5mm to 2.5mm adapter for the hub.

Just as an update to this here is the latest:

Bought a used Harmony Elite with harmony hub and 2 IR mini blasters.

Put the Z7+ on the shelf below my TV with 1 IR mini blaster on top of the Z7+.

Put the Harmony hub on the top shelf on the base of the TV.

Assigned the Harmony Elite to only send Z7+ commands through port 1 to the IR mini blaster.

Assigned the Harmony Elite to send ZVOX commands only through the Harmony Hub.

    Results:

Navigation buttons, (up, down, left, right) work as expected on the Z7+ with no interference to the ZVOX.

Volume down is causing the Z7+ to react to this command. It turns the volume down on the ZVOX and in apps on the Z7+ react as well (ex: pulls up a menu etc).

I was thinking about getting the percussion IR blasters to see if that solves the issue since I think the Z7+ might be getting hit with IR from the hub even though it's on a different shelf? Not sure.

I just returned the Harmony 665. I think you're right. It's weird that you aren't using the IR blaster and you're not getting interference. I posted in AVS Forums and the guys there are saying the same thing about getting a Harmony with the hub (Ultimate, Elite etc) but put the Z7+ on a separate shelf with the Harmony IR blaster in front of it. The Harmony remote will talk to the hub and only send the command to the IR blaster.

    From Logitech:

The Harmony Companion and Harmony Smart Control remotes do not have IR emitters and rely on the hub and IR mini blaster(s) for all IR control.

If that's the case then the hub is sending out IR to all your devices if you don't have the IR blasters setup and nothing is coming from the remote. What's your positioning of your hub in relation to the soundbar and Z7+?

Soundbar remote does not trigger any response from Z7+ therefore no LED response from the Z7+.

LED on the front of the Z7+ does flash in unison with the settings being changed on the soundbar with the Z7+ remote.

I can make a video if you want to see what is happening.

Posted on some other forums and apparently the codes for the ZVOX and Z7+ are not identical but very similar yet the Formulator ZVOX still picks it up. Maybe an engineer can take a look at this?

The codes aren't identical, but only 2 bits are different (NEC1 0.245 versus 0.255). Most devices would reject the wrong codes due to such a difference, but the Z7+ apparently fails in this respect.

I am curious if there is differece between RC ir codes for Formuler Z7+ between EU model and NA .if anybody has hex or efc codes EU model would be appreciated. The remote for the Formuler Z7+ and my hdmi switcher is interferring with each other. Here are My learned NA model ir codes if any body needs them.

Just wondering if you ever solved this issue of the Z7+ remote interfering / controlling your HDMI switcher? I'm having the same issue but it's controlling my ZVOX soundbar. I bought a harmony remote but same issue.

I picked up a Harmony 665 tonight from Best Buy, programmed it with all my devices. Unfortunately I'm getting the same issue. ZVOX must actually be using the exact same remote codes as the Z7+. Not sure what else I can do. Seems like the only options are a Harmony remote with an IR blaster so it only sends to those specific devices or return the Z7+

Brand new Z7+ user here and I noticed the remote for the Z7+ is controlling my ZVOX 350, which is basically a sound bar/shelf.

For example the keypad up on the Formuler Z7+ remote actually changes the surround sound modes (toggles between sd 1, sd 2, sd3). Then the left arrow toggles output leveling on and off. The EPG button lowers the volume. Other buttons do various things as well. Is there anything I can do to solve this problem? I've contacted ZVOX and they suggested a few things but nothing worked. They said unfortunately it looks like the Z7+ remote is sending the same IR commands and there's no work around.
