Can you use the VPN after the activation in the country of sell. I am reading here it will still "brick" the box if you do. I need to use a VPN, but am worried.

Once you have activated your box in your home country, if you use a VPN to change to a different country will that "brick" the box?

I got past the language screen, but then it says device not for sale outside the EU or UK and shuts down. I live in Portugal.
