I just wanted something to play downloaded movies I have on my 1TB drive. What is Mytvonline? What does it offer more than my Samsung smart TV??

Hi folks. My new Z8 can't seem to handle AC3 audio (my friends' £30 player can, however...which is a bit annoying!). I've seen various posts which mention downloading an additional AC3 codec. Is this the case, and if so, please could someone share SIMPLE STEP-BY-STEP instructions? Thanks.

The optical issue is weird. If I plug the optical audio from my Samsung TV into the Denon it is fine. If I swap over to the one from the Z8, the Denon recognises it as an optical audio source, but I get no audio. Tried to watch a movie last night just using HDMI (not optical) and still got no audio! Had to watch it via VLC on my computer in the end - which is exactly what I bought the Z8 to avoid.

I'm beginning to think I might be better off with a less complicated (and cheaper!) unit...

Yes everything really. The Optical audio doesn't seem to work. Apparently it has a learning remote, but no instructions on how to pair it with my TV. Am I being thick? I have a degree in electronics FFS!

Might have one for you unless someone can point me in the direction of an instruction manual. Bought one last week because of all the features, but can't get anyone from Formuler to engage on how to work the damn thing, other than what I can work out myself. Damn frustrating!
