    Well, looks like these feature is supposed to work along with the Playback Limit setting.

    I was assuming the most obvious behaviour, but looks like it doesn't work in the most expectable way.

    So, when you have Playback Limit set, and that time is reached, the box will enter the selected Power Mode.

    The expected behaviour would be that after some time of inactivity (not from the Playback Limit setting), the box would enter the selected mode. Or at least should be explained somewhere that these 2 settings work together!

    Hello.

    I would like to know, if possible, what are the limitations of the erase and format tool in the box. I'm not sure if you can go in detail but it would be interesting to dig a little bit about this, because I'm one of the interested as I'm using Linux and I had have problems formatting and using Pen Drives with my box that I tried to format several times to NTFS in my Debian laptop. And since Android shares a few things with Linux OS, it would be interesting how it works better with Windows actions (I mean formatting) than with Linux formatting tools such as 'dd', 'mkfs' and others that I've tried.

    Thanks

    Hello.

    I still have this problem about Power Mode. The expected behaviour (hope I'm right):

    Power Off - Box powers off completely and box led goes red.

    Stand By - Box goes Stand By mode and led goes red. When we press STB button, box starts and jumps right to the place where it was prior to the Stan By mode kicked in (by time, I suppose).

    The behaviour I have is that the led never goes red in any of the above modes. Regarding the mode itself, I think it never goes off completely in Power Off mode and in Stand By mode, it's just if I selected any mode. Box is just as if it was up and running all night when we turn TV on in the morning. So, intercepting these 2 behaviours, it looks like that neither Power Off nor Stan By modes are working.

    Anyone is actually experiencing anything like this?

    Edited;

    I have UTC set in EPG settings... I'm London time zone.

    You are not understanding what I am saying. I have tried that on both my Mac and my neighbors Windows. Nothing can detect it all besides the Formuler box. I have tried several different options. I thought maybe it was my MacOS not seeing so I my neighbor took it (who is a developer) and he could not seem to find it either. I have connected two WD external hard drives to the formula and neither one of them can be found on computers now.

    You say your PC cannot detect your hard drive via your network, right? They are suggesting you to connect the drive directly to your laptop, by USB cable, I guess.

    I'm a Linux user so I could only suggest to check for your hard drive's health. In Windows I'm pretty sure you can do the same. Otherwise, delete partitions, create new ones, format, etc. You'll lose all data, obviously!

    I'm sorry, but it looks terrible. I didn't buy a box designed for visually impaired, but it seems that is what I got. At least let us choose ourselves.

    Maybe it's not a devs option to prevent rollback. Maybe it's a programming limitation. Maybe they still haven't been able to come up with a secure and stable solution for rolling back.

    I also think it should be possible to rollback in case something goes wrong, but what can we do other than asking why is it not possible. And that, I would also like to know.

    I would also like to know about other users being able or not to use the Power Settings. In my case, seems that no matter the Power setting I chose, there is no difference. Before the update, if I left the box on for the night, in the morning the box was with the green led turned red. I think this means the box went to Power Off Mode or Stand By mode. As of now, the box never goes to any of those modes. It's always green led.

    Playback limit is not a problem or issue, this is setting to control inactivity of box and cut the connection (after 3h) to save traffic and resources. Some providers have this setting active and some not, depends from provider... If provider gives you the chance to change this by your self, then this option is not greyed and you can change to 1- 4H or turn it off, but in most cases the control is on provider side, if stalker in use.

    XC Api and M3U is not in control from provider but user can make his own settings or turn it off.

    Ok, I see.

    I still not sure if I can use that XC API with the type of access I have (I gave the provider my mac address which I think its called a stalker access).

    Gona speak to him to see if he can set that of or at least let me control it for me only!

    If you connect instead with xc api or m3u your provider will not be able to control the playback limit.

    But I never had this problem. Only after upating to last stable version of MOL2.

    Anyway, having MAC access (I think also known as stalker) can I do you you're saying about XC api or m3u?

    Hello community,

    Do someone has the same problem since the update that certain channels sometimes buffering and as soon as you continue a channel and goes back it runs smoothly again??

    Won't that be related to service provider or your home network? On my side is more the channel freezes, then I change to the next channel, thene change back to the frozen one and it is already working. But I think this is related with service provider or internet than with the app or box or firmware.

    If greyed, then this controls your provider and you can not change this.

    But this never happened before. So, no matter if it's under my control or under provider control, this should be possible to change. That's related with playback time I guess. I have to take a screenshot and post here. Maybe we are talking about different things.

    Short name for MYTVOnline is Mol..

    Ok, but what are you referring to when you say "if under your control"? What is that? My IPTV service provider?

    Eited;

    I can see an option related to "Playback time" but cannot change it! It's greyed out. And it's set to 3h!

    Errors with leanback launcher can in most cases only solved with factory reset. Did you install in last time some apps or use new USB or Bluetooth devices?

    New USB yes. No to all the others you stated! And I struggle to put it working again, because as soon as the box reboots and reaches the Home screen, it gives errors, ones after anothers and on top of each others, creating like 10 or 15 error messages.

    But, it might be just that. I'll try other USB devices or any USB devices to check it!

    Maybe the "Software Update" problem also goes away!

    I've been getting lots of critical errors of systems applications when I reboot the box. I can't enter the "Update Software" menu. It says "Download failed". There are at least 2 applications that keeps closing and they are named something lie "app.leanback" and "app.media.something". I can't remember the exact names.

    What can I do to at least be able to update firmware to the latest stable version?

    Yes Formuler should add special file system only for you...What a joke.

    Where did you read that I'm asking for a fie system only for me?

    Could you please spend another 20 seconds reading again what I wrote?

    If you can't understand what I wrote, then you don't even need to bother replying to my posts, Mainly if they are like the last reply you added which was completely useless and helpless!

    I was just asking if there were any plans to improve the box ability to accept/work/talk to another file systems other than the 2 that are exclusively targeted to Windows machines.

    We told already few times that FAT32 and NTFS works very good as format for USB recording devices, there was always some problems at beginning with exfat. Now you come with ext4, what speaks against NTFS?

    I know we already discussed this for recording devices. But regardless of if this is a recording device or not, the problem still happens. And obviously I'm not going to reformat a 2 TB drive that is over 60% filled with data (movies, music, software, etc). I don't have where to backup so much data.

    Is it supposed to be improved the interaction of the Box with other file systems in a near future?

    This is said to be one of the (or even the) best Android box of the market but I start thinking this is an overrated statement when a box cannot handle different file systems other that the most common ones aka (Rubish)indows file systems!

    No it' s not possible, closed box.

    So, could you explain how can I make logcat to work so that I am able to see if anything comes out about the external drive not being unmounted when I reboot or power off the box? The drive is not unmounted for sure because every time I reboot it, the drive is not remounted and I can't access its contents. I have to phisically remove the drive and run e2fsck on it with my laptop and after that it gets working again!

    Something tells me that there might be some issue when unmounting non-exFAT and/or non-NTFS drives in this box.

    Anyone else have issues with USB drives externally attached to the box? Could anyone try with an ext4 filesystem to see if you get any problems when you reboot/power off and power on the box?

    I'm still having issues with external devices. Each time I reboot the box, my external drive that I have attached to the box gives me head aches.

    When I reboot the box, my external drive is not detected. Then, when I check settings at "Storage & Reset", I can only see "Device properly Ejected" or something like that!

    Going to run an fsck to check for any errors.

    New problem...

    Now, all of a sudden, my external device I have attached to Formuler Z8 is deteccted by AndroidOS but it shows in Settings as "The Device was successfully unmounted" and I can't access it from anywhere!

    Any idea of what might be going on?

    Well, I still had no time to try to install E2B in my laptop but I tried to format one of my external USB devices (16Gb Pen drive) directly from the box, using Android OS. I went to Settings -> Storage-> USB Device and chose to format it. Then tried again to record the "ongoing" show and the same error came up. MyTvOnline2 crashed! Then I tried to schedule a Recording action to the next show. It started recording. When it ends, I'll check what's inside, if anything is there!

    Edited;

    Well, after recoring has finished, I tried to access this pen drive from the box and no file explorer could access to it. Went to Settings and there was only a message to "Forget this USB device" which would erase all data inside it! I plugged it out and tried to plug it in again, but still no good. No access to this pen drive.

    Then I plugged it to my laptop, and not even here I can mount it. So, not sure what is going on with this thing!

    Edited 1;

    After checking evicepartitions, it has 2 partitions, but the type is unknown.

    There are also other homepages with easy2boot for linux, download and description. It was first site i found on google. Should be alternative for rufus.

    I'll try tomorrow.

    Why do you bother asking? Apparently you have the answer for everything. We are giving suggestions and trying to help you and the only thing you are doing is complaining, instead show a bit of appreciation !

    I really appreciate the help you are giving me. I really do. I'm not complaining at you. My last post was just some words getting out of my chest. It was not my intent to complain at anyone about anything, I'm sorry, anyway!
