The entire external hdd has to be formatted to NTFS not just the partition.
It's a single USB pen drive. 16Gb. I used 'dd' command to wipe all the drive, then used fdisk to create "GPT label" and then mkfs.ntfs to format partition to NTFS file system type.
Is there a log or some error tracking system so that I can see why the app is crashing?

Check your last installed apps and deinstall not needed, maybe some app have conflict with mol2.
It might have something to do with at least one of the external devices is formatted in ext4 and it tries to record there and it crashes. But even so, the other external drive is in exFAT and it also crashes! I have to investigate further, but for now is bed time! I'll come back to the fight tomorrow!

IPTV Smarters Pro says it might not be optimized to my device.
And all those IPTV apps are only for .m3u playlists, right? My provider is not using .m3u files! It's an http one.

Use the included File Manager app and try to open the USB from there.
Ok, I managed to work it around by uninstalling that app and installing EZ File Manager. I can already record stuff in my external storage and access both storages.

I don't the menus exactly like that but it's like:
Android Settings -> Applications -> CS File Explorer -> Authorizations -> Storage (Slider is activated)

Did you grand external storage permission to the file explorer app?I'm using CS File Explorer. Where do I set permissions? I tend to run away from Windows world. I have "a thing" for Linux world!

Not yet, will come with next or after next update! Please note, for such feature, recording and watching other channel you need multisub from your provider. In clear words one sub with two lines. You should check this first with your Provider.
So that means that in addition to the box be able to record a show an change channel, I also need to pay for a second line to my IPTV provider so that the feature can fully work?

I already saw that. But why there is this limitation about filesystems? Why, as an Adroid box, it doesn't support ext4 and other Linux based filesystems?

So, recording is not possible for external drives formatted in other file systems other than extFAT? I have an external drive formatted in ext4 and I can see and play the contents using VLC app but I tried to record a kid's show and it seemed to be recording but I can't find the show anywhere. The "Recordings" menu of MyTvOnline2 says it's empty.

In addition to the steps I did, it is possible that if you try to write in that shared device, you lack correct permissions.
What I did, and also for convenience, was to mount that shared device in a local folder and for that to work properly and don't have write permission issues, I mounted the device with the following options:

Just open windows explorer and insert > \\box.ip.address\ and not //box.ip.address/

under Network you see device like " Android _K8Dxxx" just click on it.
I'm not in Windows. I'm in Debian. And apparently, my laptop takes some time to see the shared folder. Like a couple of minutes. But I think that's all.

Well, for some reason, I can see the folders but I can't enter any folder "below" ..../share/......

What internal-external ip? The z8 only has dynamic or static ip. You can assign your own static ip adress or dynamic.
By internal I meant static IP.
Anyway, I got it. I'll share the steps.
1 - Enable Samba service in your Formuler Z8 Settings.
2 - In your PC, open your File Explorer an edit path an replace by: smb://box.internal.IP/share/media_rw/sda1 (linux way)
Notes:
1 - If the above path doesn't work, use your favorite file explorer of your Formuler Z8 to find out the correct path.
2 - Windows way, just replace '/' by '\'.

If you mean to your local network then it is possible. Just turn samba service on.
I mean an external HDD I have. It's 1TB an it could be used to save recordings and movies and music to eventually play in my Tv with the box!
