    Hi.

My IPTV channels are available via website or IPTV server.

My website uses HTML5 player and hls.js

My streams are in 3 qualities via ABR, so they change depending on available bandwidth.

A HLS setting good for my viewers is hlsStartLevel (which I set to 0 or 1), this forces the stream to start at lowest quality so playback starts and does not buffer for users on slow connections.

Then playback moves to higher qualities for people with faster internet.

MYTVO2 does not do this I think. It seems to start on highest quality.

Is there a way to change this? How to start playback on lower quality or force lower quality all the time? Like choose between different available bitrates and select your default.

Like on Youtube you can do this and other websites, but how to do it in MYTVOnline/2?

    Thank you

I had a Z7+ and asked about this. You said this was fixed/improved on the Z8 so I bought one of those.

Now I find that if I am in timeshift, and press record, MTVO2 skips to the live TV and then records from there.

I thought it was meant to record what is in the timeshift buffer (i.e., the program from the beginning) and not skip to live?

    Thanks

    Using a Z7+

is it only me or are some Play store apps impossible to use and navigate?

I am mainly trying to install UK TV apps (if you are not in the UK you can still install them, you just wont be able to view any video content)

Please can the devs try some of them:

Freeview (can't even enter a postcode when first opening the app! well, I can type a postcode but pressing enter moves the cursor to a new line instead of actually pressing enter)

    ITV Hub

    BBC iPlayer

    All4

    My5

    UKTV Play

None of them work properly. And I am guessing it's lots of apps, not just these ones.

I am not talking about viewing content so please do not say you need a UK based VPN to use them. This is about navigating the apps, browsing categories, selecting programs etc.

    Thank you

please can there be settings for default recording setting such as "add to recording x minutes extra"

as most programs streamed on HLS are 30 seconds or more behind the actual live broadcast.

Sometimes they end exactly at the time (e.g., 20:00 to 20:30 and ends at 20:30) and sometimes miss the last few seconds of the program, or even a program runs a few minutes late.

Sky TV boxes do this by default and it would be great if Formuler boxes did.

    Thanks

Thanks for the reply but that does not help. It cycles between the channel info and the program info.

Also to the devs, when watching a recording there is a blue progress bar, this auto hides after a while or if it doesn't, you press "back" to remove it.

So when timeshift is active, the similar blue bar is visible, but press back and accidentally change channel. Confusing!

Also when viewing live TV sometimes and adverts come on, I am unsure if I am live or a few minutes behind, so I press the right arrow to see if there is any skip forward, (let's say there isn't as I am watching in real time live TV) but the blue bar doesn't go away..... another reason, odd that it doesn't auto hide.

Please can this be improved? Just seems to make so much sense if blue bar auto hides after a few seconds whether live or a few minutes behind live. This would remove the accidentally changing channel by pressing "back" issue

This is my only negative I would say about these boxes. Especially if late at night, tired, had a few beers, very easy to make mistake then be super annoyed to lose a big chunk of the program that I was enjoying. I still do it sometimes now after many weeks using it.

    Thank you

Or at least please can there be a confirmation "leave timeshift?"

I've had the box for weeks and I keep making this mistake, coming from a TV box which pressing back was the usual way to remove anything on the screen, I know many other customers of mine will make this mistake. (my customers are mostly people from the UK who have moved abroad. And in the UK the Sky TV boxes remote is what people are used to)

It keeps catching me out and losing the last 20 minutes or so is mega-disappointing when in the middle of an enjoyable program

Hello. Maybe you are aware of this already and it will be fixed.

It is annoying when watching timeshift (e.g., 15 minutes behind live TV) that the OSD (blue bar at the bottom) does not hide after a few seconds, so if I fast forward through adverts the bar remains. Then sometimes I press "back" (wrong button I know) to remove the OSD (like you would when watching live TV to remove the OSD) only to find MYTV changes channel to the previously watched channel, now I have lost the last 15 minutes of channel I was trying to watch, so no ability to rewind 20 minutes to where you were just watching.

I hope this is on the to-fix list? Pressing back should probably not go to the last viewed channel and cancel your timeshift viewing by mistake. It is way too easy to do it by mistake especially because normally pressing "back" is to remove the OSD/EPG etc, and that the OSD does not auto remove/hide when viewing timeshift!

Why can't a different button do that (switch to previous channel), something far away from an easy pressed button to do it by mistake. Also as many people in the UK are used to Sky box using blue button to go to previous channel.

    Thank you

I was watching a 1 hour program. It had been on for 10 minutes, then I pressed record. It only records from the moment I press record.

Please can you make it so it records the data stored in the timeshift buffer? I.e., from the beginning of the program or as long ago as possible that data is cached? As I wanted to go back and watch the program from the beginning at a later date.

Also, when recording, (I am new to Formuler boxes) I pressed VOD to see if it had any recordings saved from previously, I see that it's the Playlist option which shows the recordings. Anyway doing this (pressing VOD/playlist etc) cancels the current recording.

Can you make it so MYTVOnline continues recording in the background? Then people can record a program while watching something else, either VOD or a previous recording?
Even if it cannot record one and watch one, please can you make it so recordings are not automatically cancelled so easily when looking around the options and other apps?

As many of my customers are elderly and I want it to be as easy as possible for them to use the box, I want to suggest Formuler to them instead of other brands, as I am very impressed with Formuler- timeshift and recording works out of the box, on HLS streams instead of having to do some encoding to rtp and using ffrt / nginx etc etc....

    Thank you
