  • Hello. Maybe you are aware of this already and it will be fixed.

It is annoying when watching timeshift (e.g., 15 minutes behind live TV) that the OSD (blue bar at the bottom) does not hide after a few seconds, so if I fast forward through adverts the bar remains. Then sometimes I press "back" (wrong button I know) to remove the OSD (like you would when watching live TV to remove the OSD) only to find MYTV changes channel to the previously watched channel, now I have lost the last 15 minutes of channel I was trying to watch, so no ability to rewind 20 minutes to where you were just watching.

I hope this is on the to-fix list? Pressing back should probably not go to the last viewed channel and cancel your timeshift viewing by mistake. It is way too easy to do it by mistake especially because normally pressing "back" is to remove the OSD/EPG etc, and that the OSD does not auto remove/hide when viewing timeshift!

Why can't a different button do that (switch to previous channel), something far away from an easy pressed button to do it by mistake. Also as many people in the UK are used to Sky box using blue button to go to previous channel.

    Thank you

  • Or at least please can there be a confirmation "leave timeshift?"

I've had the box for weeks and I keep making this mistake, coming from a TV box which pressing back was the usual way to remove anything on the screen, I know many other customers of mine will make this mistake. (my customers are mostly people from the UK who have moved abroad. And in the UK the Sky TV boxes remote is what people are used to)

It keeps catching me out and losing the last 20 minutes or so is mega-disappointing when in the middle of an enjoyable program

  • Thanks for the reply but that does not help. It cycles between the channel info and the program info.

Also to the devs, when watching a recording there is a blue progress bar, this auto hides after a while or if it doesn't, you press "back" to remove it.

So when timeshift is active, the similar blue bar is visible, but press back and accidentally change channel. Confusing!

Also when viewing live TV sometimes and adverts come on, I am unsure if I am live or a few minutes behind, so I press the right arrow to see if there is any skip forward, (let's say there isn't as I am watching in real time live TV) but the blue bar doesn't go away..... another reason, odd that it doesn't auto hide.

Please can this be improved? Just seems to make so much sense if blue bar auto hides after a few seconds whether live or a few minutes behind live. This would remove the accidentally changing channel by pressing "back" issue

This is my only negative I would say about these boxes. Especially if late at night, tired, had a few beers, very easy to make mistake then be super annoyed to lose a big chunk of the program that I was enjoying. I still do it sometimes now after many weeks using it.

    Thank you
