It works on GTV which has Android TV, but z10 Pro Max has mobile Android which I don't think has the remote app built in the system. You would need to pull out from Android TV system app named "Android TV Remote Service" and install on Z10 Pro Max or check if this is available to download: https://play.google.com/store/apps/det….remote.service

Are there any plans to implement 3rd party EPG lists for XC / Stalker portals and EPG caching history? E.g. there is a provider which is using Stalker but provides EPG only for today and tomorrow. They have 7 days catchup but they don't keep EPG on their server, they require the app to do the caching of the EPG they provide or to use 3rd party EPG (some apps do allow that). As per my understanding, using such provider in MOL2 would simply result in no catchup / EPG history because MOL2 on XC / Stalker relies entirely on what is provided by the provider and there is no caching of EPG (to keep its history)?

After running for few days (maybe even 10+) MOL2 slow down. I have to force close the app and re-open, otherwise it is lagging when choosing menu options, switching channels or even lagging when watching streams (buffer is full - no connection issues here). Never had such issues with Z8 and MOL2. Has anyone else noticed the same? All other apps are snappy, so this issue is isolated to MOL2 and standby.

Has anyone else noticed the same?

I just got GTV (sorry Z8 - you served well) and can confirm the image quality being inferior (not as sharp) to Z8. I have disabled SDR to HDR as per the general advice here. One thing I noticed, my provider recently switched source of streams upon which Z8 MOL2 asked me to download a codec. I did not get such prompt on GTV yet using the same provider. It could be that this codec or whatever MOL2 was sometimes asking to download was improving the picture quality - I don't know.

Also hard coding static IP on ethernet connections during GTV first launch was not the smartest idea I guess.

One thing I immediately noticed as well compared to Z8 is that GTV MOL2 is showing even 30% higher bitrate (pic) readings on the same channels / same provider.

Is there really no way to turn on or factory reset Z8 without RCU? Mine RCU just got broken into pieces and unfortunately won't work. When I unplug power and turn it on, there is 10 seconds to do something before it goes to standy, so I connected via Android TV iOS app but unfortunately the standby prompt doesn't react on Android TV app remote buttons

    I have:

    - reset device to factory details

    - checked multiple providers in M3U list (2 connections allowed) and XC (with 2 connections - enabled from the provider on my request). Was able to see PIP via XC. XC indeed check for connections allowed and won't show PIP if it is just 1 but M3U lists will show PIP regardless of the connections.

    - replaced ethernet cable

    - replaced HDMI cable

    - switched to 5Ghz (from wired just to see)

    - checked speedtest both via VPN (140Mbps) and without VPN (250mbps).

    - tried with VPN on/off

Well, same issues. If 2x 50fps streams are running, I do hear audio properly but things with picture gets crazy or in very slow motion.

I came across this post , how to actually tell if someone bought a fake device or not if I get regular updates etc? I paid 2 years ago (Feb 2019) incredible price at launch in UAE of $80 (seller Caronic). Today the same seller still sell Z8 through their website and Amazon AE for $136.

So it is possible that the details are not really accurate. I have seen on another popular IPTV app that the 50 FPS means nothing, as the stream is 25 FPS.

Mevi that's for M3U lists only, on that particular provider I have MAC portal access.

Info shows only the streamed details from provider to your box (how the signal/data comes in)

How accurate this details are? Provider is sending me screenshots from his server side api showing a channel 50 FPS and streaming approx. 18.000 Kbps, while MOL2 is showing the same channel 25 FPS but confirming the streaming rate.

SAM thanks for checking. I have noticed however that your streams are 720 50 FPS I wonder if this make a difference, as mine are 1080 50 FPS.

I have one XC provider which has 720 FPS streams but I can't make the PIP to appear, although it is XC portal, so I can't test it.

I will troubleshoot it again, I will also record with Streamable. I guess I need to download app on Z8 first.

Only MOL2 Menu -> Refresh, if you not reconnect.

Yes, thanks but that results in a short interruption of of watching channel. Last time I did it when connected to MAC Portal the MOL2 app crashed.

Would be great to add automatic methods of refreshing, e.g. at desired TIME; every X hours; when coming from standby etc.

So I checked something now and it seems that it doesn't matter if you use XC or MAC portal, in case if iptv provider do some changes, they won't be automatically fetched by MOL 2. You need to manually refresh the portal

Is there really no solution to this? Considering nearly cable TV experience, I understand the moment you turn on the box from standby it goes directly to the channels without reloading the list. But I think there should be an option to reload the list every X hours OR at desired time each day OR when coming from standby. Also it would be nice if the reloading could happen in the background without interrupting channel being played.

Is there any shortcut on remote to refresh the list without having to go to the settings?

Not me. I have to push « refresh » manually otherwise VoD & Series are not up-to-date.

Would therefore be usefull to have an aut-refresh each time we switch on the box from Standby.

That would be nice, I agree. Just learned about this quite a major inconvenience compared to MAC portals (for people saying there is no difference between XC and MAC - there is, behavioral difference).

I’m not talking about channels going down and coming back up again. Let me give you an example. My provider offers live feeds to currently ongoing events, on dedicated channels, that appear and disappear as soon as the provider can offer the event in question. So, for example, if a tennis tournament starts, my list will show me the channels for said tournament, and they’ll be disappearing when the tournament has finished, without me having to manually refresh the list or disconnect/reconnect to the portal. So I guess my behaviour is different than yours, alright, but I don’t think that’s down to the Formuler. That being said, I don’t know what would be causing the difference in behaviour. Anyway, if you want to continue the discussion, feel free to message me directly, as we aren’t supposed to be having this discussion on this thread...

I came across similar issue actually. I had channels non working and IPTV provider asked me to refresh XC portal. The only way I know how to do it, is to simply go to connections, disconnect and connect again. A bit inconvenient. Is this issue down to XC or MAC portals would have the same issue I wonder?

Turn off the VPN and try again

    No, it doesn't help.

VPN actually helps me to achieve much better performance vs direct ISP connection.

I have tried to record it but PIP is not shown on the recording video and funny thing, when playing back the recording although no PIP is shown, this slowdown is not present.

So it clearly must be some sort of bug with live playback of 50 FPS stream + PIP (doesn't matter if 50 FPS or not).

I have tried turning on AFR but that didn't help.

Are you able to reproduce this issue on your end or you don't have 50 FPS stream to test?

I have just tried the PIP and it works nice, however as soon as I put 2x 50 FPS channels, everything is like a slow motion. If I put 50 FPS channel as main + 25 FPS as PIP, same issue only with the main 50 FPS channel. If I swap them, 25 FPS works fine but 50 FPS in PIP slow motion again. No issues if I put 2x 25 FPS channels or if I just watch one 50 FPS channel.

Is there any resolution for this behaviour?

M3U list (not XC) with 2 connections allowed.

    Firmware : v.1.4.91

    MYTVOnline 2 : v.7.11.1

I have M3U URL that loads instantly in MyTVOnline2 app. The provider support XC using the same details. However it gets stuck on 26% - then nothing works no matter how long do I wait. Restarting or shutting down doesn't work, I have to manually remove the power cord.... I thought it could be due to a large VOD library, but there is no way to exclude VOD from being loaded on XC portal startup, which is strange considering competitive app does have such feature. I don't need VOD by the way, so having such option would come handy. I checked in the other app and XC with VOD or without loads properly.

How do I troubleshoot such issue?

Will echo support for this feature hopefully something can be put together there's some dreadful iptv apps that have it so hopefully the wizards here can sort it.

Exactly. I obviously did not want to bring this up or mention the popular apps which are newer than MTVOL2 and supports M3U with catchup. I bought Z8 the moment it was released 2 years back and I could not believe it did not have a support for it. I thought it is temporary, because of the new app etc - understanding, but it's been 2 years forward and nothing.

There are outdated providers who will also never move to newer infrastructure. Not all M3U support XC - a popular misconception among iptv community.

Lastly there is a popular Android app with built in EPG which does not seem to have any plans into moving to MAC or XC, however they do support M3U with catchup. I know at least 3 localized providers using M3U with catchup without MAC or XC alternative...

SAM I would appreciate your follow up on this with some urgency on stressing it to devs. I like MTVOL2 app better than all others available, so I wish I could use it more often.

you can install stb emu and try that to see if that works

Yes, it works but I guess the whole point in buying Z8 is to use MTVOL2 and not STB Emu.

I still don't understand why technically it can't work if the MAC ID on STB Emu is set to be exactly the same as MTVOL2.

Now whenever I try to access my provider with MTVOL2 I get automatic ban on their system, because then it doesn't even work on STB Emu either (it's asking for activation code), I have to wait or ask for unbanning the MAC ID. Strange.
