What do you need A9 for exactly

I thought this thread would be useful for anyone that is not aware. As we know with Formuler and the fantastic mytvonline2 application we are spoilt for choice when it comes to the method of connection. However, with anything there are pros and cons and the method of connection you use is no different. So with that said, please post anything you know that could be seen as either a negative or a positive depending on which connection type you use or choose.

Nothing you can do ATM other than set box volume to full and control volume with TV remote which adjusts in increments of one. I know it means using two remotes but best solution as it stands. Hopefully this will change in a future update.

Update..

I have since unplugged and stopped using my extender again. The strange thing is remote became a little less responsive and this is exactly what I remember happening before. It starts off good and then performance just seems to drop after a period of time for some reason and then improves again when it is unplugged.

Not necessarily.. if this is the case you have not got a VPN that suits your needs. It's all about trial and error and finding what works best for you. What works well for one does not mean that will be the case for all as there are lots of factors to take into account. I understand what you're saying because I too have experienced exactly what you have said. Tried a few though and got one that works well and only get 1-2 Mbps loss maximum.

So who actually uses their RC Extender on their Z8 and who doesn't?

I used it quite some time ago and then stopped using it because I felt remote performed better without it. After moving my TV recently though, I decided to give it another try and to my surprise it now seems to be performing better than before, so will continue with it for the time being and see how it goes. What are other people's thought and experiences?

Ps. I do know all about the BT1 remote before any one mentions it, but don't feel the need to purchase one at the moment 😉

Hi Den, what do you use downloader for out of curiosity? I haven't ever found the need for it since I came away from firesticks.

I think I remember your post a while back and may have commented. I've had my Z8 coming up to a year possibly and the ITV Hub was one of the first applications I installed as my other half uses it most days. I have never had a problem with it myself and it has always worked correctly. The only thing I remember is I had to switch my VPN off when setting up and run the app through split tunnel to get it to work due to their Geo-blocking policy and that's it. It has been absolutely fine ever since. I hope you manage to find a solution.

All I do is press and hold exit button on remote, select exit on screen and then press STB power button on remote, which puts box into standby mode in accordance with my settings. In MOL2 menu be sure to refresh once or twice a week or as and when needed and you are good to go.

Sounds like your USB might be incorrect format.

This is definitely a service issue. I myself had this very issue a few weeks ago. It was driving me crazy. I knew nothing had changed my end so it was so frustrating. Then all of a sudden this problem has completely disappeared and everything is perfect again. And guess what,, still nothing has changed my end. 100% a service provider issue,, the trouble is they will all try their best to try and convince you otherwise and say it's not.

What country are you in?

How many connections have you paid for? If you have paid for one but are logged in more than once simultaneously,, this can cause this issue.

Nord updated recently so make sure you are using latest version. I switched to Nord a few months ago and haven't experienced this myself.

Well I tried to check Dplay out for you yesterday, but after not being able to find it, I remembered that I deleted it a couple weeks ago due to not using it sorry about that, I know that isn't much help. The last time there was an issue with the version in market it was fixed quite quickly, hopefully they can do the same for you. Just be sure auto-update is disabled in GPS, as it will keep updating and stop working again.

I haven't used dplay for a while but last time I checked mine was working. I will try and check later on today.

itv hub works fine for us. One of the most used apps on our box actually (not by me personally 😁) . Had box a year or so and installed from playstore when it was new and have never had an issue with it.

some portal urls have a /c on the end and sometimes connection will work fine,, but sometimes it will not.

I have found that by simply removing the /c from the url can solve the problem.

The only problem I have experienced with tivi on the Z8 is with multi-screen. Everything else works flawlessly and an extremely good alternative to MOL2. Might be something you can do buddy. I did make a few tweaks to mine. It is very customizable.

Definitely ID.. I wouldn't recommend a Mac connection though. People seem to have a lot more service issues using this method.

Portal connection with login and password every time

Just need to find a compatible version. There are some out there. Don't use Netflix personally,, but know others have managed to find.

Sam,, that is correct. Not one single one out of around 10 options in sync.

Translation fine, just badly out of sync with programme.

Trying to watch something using online subtitles and they are very badly out of sync with what I am watching. Have come across this before and normally selecting a different subtitle file solves the problem,, but not this time.

Is there any quick fix for this? Have cleared all caches and rebooted box and router etc. ,, but unfortunately no change.
