I wanted to write something similar but he wrote he has another Z8 whithout the problem. Maybe I wrongly assumed both Z8 have the same provider.

Yes both have the same provider, first z8 I got works fine, but the second don't show all pics.
And yes I have two subscriptions.
seen this mentioned in another thread, but can't find any solution, pics or thumbnails is missing on most of the vod movies, I have cleared cache on z8 and restarted, but nothing helps. I have another z8 where it works.
Using ethernet, not wifi.
For tv channels you can not select player, but for vod you can, so if we can find an android player app that supports it it should work, but have have no suggestion for which app to try.
I have the same problem with Z8, samsung 8005 tv, new 48gbps hdmi cable.
After a few wakes its back to 1080i

I configured my Z8 to output 1080p@60hz.
Z8 HDMI auto adaptation is set to "off".
I see no judder whatsoever when I switch to USA/UK/NL/DE/BE/TR/VOD or whatever content in MOL2/Youtube/etc...
Probably because you use the "soap opera" function on your TV that smooths everything out, but if you watch a movie on a real movie channel you will probably see a small stutter every 5 sec or so, as movies are 24Hz. TV are broadcasted in 25, 29 or 30Hz,
Shield has an app developed by someone, it's not natively supported, it's not very smooth. it caused me lot of A-V delays etc. I can't believe for a company like google that sells millions of products worldwide, this is not supported

what's formuler developers take on this?
The New Nvidia Shield pro 2019 actually has this feature as a beta function, sorry I made a mistake in my previous post, it's the Plex app that can match refresh rate, not the older shield. But it's a very important feature for watching movies!
Bummer. Guess like any Android box. Weird that open source box can't do auto refresh rate
