I've already tried this with no luck, see original post. There's no video output so I can't even tell if its going to that android reset screen. I assumed it might be and tried to navigate using just the remote control based on the video to the reset option but no luck.

Thanks for the responses guys. Yeah I have no video output on any TV device whatsoever. It sucks because I got the GTV on launch and this is out of warranty now.

I tried to leave it disconnected for over a day and no luck. Tried 2 other power supplies - I have 2 GTVs so tried a different original power supply also and the same.

SAM I originally disconnected the power supply the first time by removing the power cable from the box whilst GTV was running on MO2, the TV was on.

Is there no USB debug mode on the box that can be used to try a flash it or hard reset or something? It's essentially a brick at this point. Time to buy a new one maybe? Bit disappointed.

    Hi all,

Last night, I unplugged my GTV whilst it was running (usual MO2) to move it to another room. Once I connected the power and HDMI, I could see the light turn on but no video output at all. The TV is detecting that there is a HDMI input connected but no video output whatsoever. Tried with multiple HDMI cables including some new ones and the same. I tried to connect it back to the original TV and again the same, and also tried at least 2 other HDMI monitors. I've also noticed that the remote doesn't connect instantly via Bluetooth and the orange amber light is on. I've tried doing a hard reset by using a pin in the IR out but again no luck.

It looks like the box is now brain dead with no video/audio output whatsoever. I had upgraded to the 12.1.1 firmware 5 days before, so only that comes to mind. Can anyone help me fix this please? I have no idea what to try next.

Are there any plans to issue a new update? Seems like this update has affected everyone in some way.

I don't want to reset the box as it means all my settings and favourites are also lost since there is no backup function. Any plans at all to fix this Formuler? Great things were promised with this update. Instead barely anything to shout about was released, and made the system more buggy. How is that fair for your users?

    Hi,

Is there an app that can be used to view the CPU and RAM activity utilisation? My box is running very sluggish sonce the update and would like to see how much resources are being used.

I remember this review showing the stats using some app on the GTV -

around 27:06 - anyone know what app is being used?

    Thanks

Sorry to say but backup option is not implemented yet.

Sorry to say but this is quite poor. I appreciate updates can be buggy on initial release and resets may sometime be required. But for us to lose all settings and unable to backup and restore in order to solve issues caused by Formuler updates is frankly unacceptable. GTV is supposed to be a premium, flagship device and I've spent a lot of money on them - bought 2. Is this feature on the roadmap at all?

Perhaps being more transparent with the feature roadmap of where Formuler is taking GTV and MOL2 would be useful to consumers who are blindingly investing in your hardware in the future. I've certainly had high hopes but over the last few weeks and months, I'm honestly losing faith with this box.

    Hi,

I want to perform a factory reset on my GTV after the latest update which seems to have made the system a bit sluggish.

I've spent a considerable amount of time ordering and sorting out my favourites in MOL2. Can this and other MOL2 settings be backed up so that I don't have to recreate the favourite list from scratch again?

Any update on audio codecs being fully supported? This is the main thing for me, I've had no audio for over 2 weeks now and it's so frustrating. If it isn't, then I'll be returning the box under warranty unfortunately.

I'd be happy to test this issue on the closed/open beta.

Android Settings > Sound > Digital Audio Format > Set to "None"
Open the Audio Track menu in MOL2 and select a different audio track

Thanks for the suggestion 175n. I tried that with no luck. The Digital Audio Format setting was already set to "None". On MOL2, the only option on audio track is 'Auto'.

Thinking about returning the box as it's not fit for purpose. Do you know when the next update is due? Everyone keeps saying soon, soon and soon but the box hasn't received any significant updates since launch and make me wonder how well supported this device will be in the future. Really disappointing from Formuler.

I've noticed this exact issue too since installing the last few updates. It's definitely become slower.

Any timelines on when this magical update will land? I have high hopes for it and it really cannot come soon enough.

Hi, over the last week I've noticed a total loss of audio on some of my favourite channels in live TV.

At first, I thought it was an issue with my provider but after testing on various other Android devices with other player apps, I confirmed that the audio works as expected.

I have 2 GTVs and tested the same provider on the second box and the same issue occurs on the second box. Maybe the provider changed the codec or bitrate of the audio on the stream. But the fact that other free and cheaper alternative players can play the sound and MOL2/GTV cannot is very disappointing. This is very much a software issue.

Please can anyone help? I'd love to provide details but not sure how I can see audio details of the streams.

    Hey greenfordraj,

Thanks for the suggestion. I actually came across that article but it's not for GTV or Android TV OS which feels like a totally different ballgame to Z series on AOSP. I'm hesitant to try anything from other devices incase I make the situation worse or hard brick it if it isn't already in that state.

This is another annoying point around the launch and support documentation. There is absolutely no support material on the Formuler site for this model. Again questions arise, why wasn't such a common reset procedure for GTV part of the docs before the launch. Everything around this device feels rushed.

Apologies if this is a bit of a rant but this really isn't expected from a premium, flagship device.

    Hi gang,

I've had the GTV for 3 days now (UK version) after the initial supplier delay.

It is a fantastic box, I set everything up correctly, installed the initial 600mb update and the rcu and mtol2 updates and been using it without any issues whatsoever.

But I believe the hardware/software may have failed today after 3 days of moderate use . No output is being delivered to the TV.

    1. I had the unit in sleep overnight with the red led on, prior to which everything was fine.

    2. Turned on the unit this morning with the led changing to white.

    3. No output on the tv, default tv message saying no signal however the tv could detect that the HDMI port was connected to a device as it was active.

    4. Turned off GTV power and restarted the device. The LED turned white but again no output on the tv but tv could detect some HDMI source is connected.

    5. Thought it might be a bad cable or the TV. Changed the HDMI lead 3 times and tried connecting to 2 other televisions but the same result.

    6. Left the box unconnected without power for a few hours and tried again on 3 different TVs again but with no luck.

    7. GTV seems to be responding to key presses on the remote as the white led does blink but only when pointed to the unit - so only via IR and not via Bluetooth. Have no idea if it's doing anything on the OS or not.

Something really fundamental has gone wrong here in the unit and I have no idea why this has happened. As a user, I should never be in a position where I'm left with what feels like a brick on such a premium flagship device under normal intended use. It feels like either the HDMI port has failed or a software issue. But I could be totally wrong.

Can anyone help? I cannot even do a factory reset as there is no video output anywhere and no buttons on the device to perform a reset.

As a sidenote, I really think there should be an easy way on any device in this league to allow a user to factory reset their device without relying on software. I'm in touch with my supplier and awaiting next steps and really just want to have a unit that works.

I was so impressed with this unit over the weekend that I ordered a second one for the other room and then this issue happened this morning ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I hope I didn't jump into it too quickly by getting a half-tested product. I appreciate that there are always teething issues at launch but this is really bad timing, it's holiday period, majority of UK is now going into tier 3 lockdown, and IPTV is all I have 😭 and this is not the best time to be ironing stuff out. Anyone heard of code/change freeze 😬?

If Formuler want to have this unit to debug or retrieve logs or anything that may help them find this issue before it affects others, feel free to message me.

    Any advice would be appreciated.
