  • I used to have a z-alpha which ran very well 99.9% of the time.

Now I have a GTV and it’s disappointing.

Please note that my setup hasn’t changed at all since switching to the GTV. Same internet connection and provider, same IPTV provider, same USB drive, same HDMI connections, same cables etc etc.

These are some of the problems I have had with the GTV

    - It has crashed a few times - never saw that with the Z-alpha

    - It wakes up by itself sometimes when there is no recording scheduled - never saw that with the z-alpha

    - Waking up is very slow from standby and even longer before the remote will work.- never saw that with the z-alpha

    - Sometimes the remote decides not to work for a minute or so - never saw that with the z-alpha

    - Scheduled recordings are no longer reliable. Sometimes the recording light comes on but nothing is recorded - never saw that with the z-alpha

    - Sometimes the recordings are a lot shorter they what was programmed. - never saw that with the z-alpha

    - I don’t have confidence in the GTV, it is unpredictable as opposed to the Z-alpha which was trustworthy.

I have come to the conclusion based on my own experience and other comments on this forum that the GTV was released too early.

Formuler should have waited until the significant bugs had been figured out.

    Reputation damaged . . .

  • Guys chill... The IPTV industry world nothing comes close to GTV. If you know you know. It's the first of its kind and with updates it will get better. I understand it has few bugs here and there but trust me when thats outta the way nothing will beat it and am grateful to formuler for giving the world GTV. I attached a screen shot after i recommended a client to use that with my service. imgbb.com

    Thanks

  • I'm also looking forward to the magic update ... so the gtv is useful but it's not fun ... codecs are missing picons are not displayed etc etc ... the motto for the z8 pro was set up and be happy. I also understand that when you go new ways, stones also have to be cleared out of the way ... my gtv is waiting in the closet for the magical update ... If you had recommended the z8 pro to your friends, they would have freaked out too, because formuler really is a different world ...

  • Z8 PRO was my daily driver until GTV came and i migrated to that. I have been Recommending Z8 pro or GTV to my clients. But i recommend GTV more as it pre-loaded with the official ANDROID TV firmware and its Google TV certified as well. UI is very critical to clients and it means the world.

  • I know people who gave the gtv back and got a z8pro. let's be honest the interfaces differ slightly and the user-friendliness of the z8pro is more than given. the z8pro runs almost perfectly and is not a tinker box. i have my gtv in the cupboard and hope for the magical ultimate update!

  • what date for the gtv update?

    >> very, very soon <<

Since some folks like to use the word closet i will use it too, this thread goes also into closet. Closed!
