Ok, please bear with me on this. I use a Harmony Elite to control all of my devices as I have a few and I hate using multiple remotes. Everything works flawlessly except obviously voice search as the elite does not have that capability. So I’m looking for a way to search on MOL3.
Now, I can use Google TV on my iPhone and press the mic button on the keyboard (not the Google assistant button) to type in using my voice but it’s pointless having to get the phone out, open the app etc each time.
So I’ve been looking at possible getting a Google Nest Mini or similar to use as a mic in the room. I’ve done some research which led to me downloading the Google Home app and connecting my Harmony devices. I can control them from Google Home App using my voice, and I would assume this would be the same as if I had the Google Nest installed. If I say a command through the app, “Turn on TV” for example it works fine. If I ask it to search something it opens the Google Assistant on the Z11, which is fine when I’m on the Home Screen for example, but even if I have MOL3 open, even if I’m on the search screen, even if I have clicked the mic button on MOL3 search, it still just searches using the assistant and doesn’t make any input to the MOL3 search.
What I want is to be able to press the search button on my Harmony Elite when in MOL3 (which opens the search dialog box), go up above the keyboard and press the microphone button and for that to then enable the Google Nest (or similar Google device in the room) so it inputs what I say into the search bar in MOL3.
Does anyone know if this is possible? I see on the GTV-B1 remote there is a google Assist button. I am assuming however that seeing as MOL3 has the microphone button that the Mic on this remote works with the MOL3 search rather than enabling Google Assistant each time? So I’m thinking it must be doable?! I don’t want to go spending money on Google devices and not be able to get it work.
Many thanks for any of you that have read this far and try to help!
