    They broke a major feature between a beta release where it worked, to stable where it broke. There was obviously no testing done. It is one thing for beta firmware to break functionality. That's even acceptable. Stable releases breaking features is frustrating.

    I understand that programing and coding, it's all very complex and tedious, and one change in one thing can break something somewhere else which seems to be the case here. Yet, shouldn't they have a sense of urgency that a major feature is broken on their most expensive device and it should be a priority to fix? Revert the change made between beta and stable, test, push a hot fix rather than wait for a full release. Push it as a beta so people understand that it might break things because it's a test.

    This is my first formuler device. Everyone assured me that I asked that formuler is fantastic. Yet, from the minute I turned this device on and was met with what looked like a factory test screen instead of a normal boot up with no documentation anywhere to fix it (I figured it out on my own) and then experiencing the half baked MOL3, I've had doubts. I want Formuler to have a sense of urgency because these experiences are leaving me unimpressed.

    I agree entirely. I purchased the Z11 pro max specifically got the UHD picture which was taken away after the last update in February, which was very disappointing and I would expect to be corrected immediately and not have to wait a month or more for the next update. Not happy

    Sorry I'm away from home over the holidays. Turning off screensaver cured the problem for me and as screensaver is not crucial I'm happy as things are. Thank you.

    Thank you Sam, Watching Elton John concert and screensaver caused Z11 to shut down twice. So I've clicked on "Never" which I assume is what you mean by disabling it and so far all is good, thank you. Will try to avoid factory reset but have backup if it becomes necessary. Looking forward to next update 👏🙂

  • Z11 portals etc

    I am gradually getting used to the new Z11 portal setup and reducing the groups that I don't use has streamlined it a lot. Adding favorites will narrow channels down even further and make it easier. However, I still find it inconvenient not being able to easily identify the portal name at any given time and I hope this will be improved soon. One thing I really miss is the "All" category for VOD/TV Series. I used this a lot and find it very inconvenient to have to search each genre seperately. Once upon a time, there was the option to search VOD/TV Series by ratings which I found very useful in the "All" section. Is it possible to get that back please or is it a provider thing? On reflection, I may temporary ditch MYTVOnline3 for one of the other apps until the bugs are sorted which is a shame because the supposed improvements were an important consideration in my purchasing the Z11 max pro.

    Consider that most bouquets in your lists you will not use so if you go to content manager within MTOL3 - you can hide bouquets you don’t want to see. This will help condense your list somewhat for the moment

    Thank you, I see what you mean and appreciate your suggestion, which will help somewhat until Devs improve the issue. I do however have one specific problem. I have a VOD subscription which opens with Live Tv section which is a Live Fireplace. However I can't find anyway to go from there into the actual VOD/TV Series lists.

    Always different ip`s, never same, otherwise you would have device conflict!

    Thank you Sam. So the NAS (ie WD My Cloud) has to have a static ip address AND so does the Z8. Am I correct please?

    I know it maybe a silly question to you but do the two devices have the same ip or must the be different but just static?

    Strange. Well I tried to replicate the dismount (excluding VPN issue) by playing around with the remote and it doesn't seem to be happening at the moment. One time after I turned Z8 off it dismounted but that's not happened since. In the Network settings there is an option to reconnect on start up which I've always had ticked. Hopefully you or someone else can throw some light on the issue, with and/or without VPN connected

    I've tried to replicate the conditions and/or remote buttons but so far it hasn't discounted. However ss you mentioned VPN I connected my Nord and it does keep disconnecting. I think on this occasion it happened when I clicked on the return button on my BT1 GTV remote.

    Even with my limited knowledge I assume connecting a VPN changes the (Z8) devices up address. However, in the network settings the network path is the up address of the storage device ie WD My Cloud plus /username.

    Hope I'm making sense.

    I put NAS together out of spare bits to test as I kept seeing stuff about it

    It seems to dismount when I click on the OK button on my new BT1 GTV remote. When I want to change channels on Mytvoline, I often find that the left and down buttons do not take me back to the sub channels, so I have to click on OK if that makes sense.

    I use WD My Cloud storage which keeps unmounting. I assume I need to set a static up address? but am not sure if I have to change the configuration on my Z8 or the WD My Cloud or my BT router (I'm on Plusnet) and what numbers I have to use.

    Can anyone give me an idiots/novices (simple) guide on how to stop the network storage from dismounting please?

    Btw. Such optional USB Tuner, no matter if Formuler or other Manufacturer, they overheat almost all, but burn is first time i hear. I use two of them since beginning, they get hot like many other devices too but did never burn. Maybe you got some very sensitive or faulty USB TV Tuner.

    Thank you for your reply Sam. As said I did receive a full refund via Amazon but I shall comply and open a support ticket. FYI I attached photographs of the damaged USB tuner.

  • Faulty Formuler DVB-T/T2 Tuner

    My Z8 developed a worrying fault yesterday. Although it was on with solid green light, the Z8 was not being recognised as a source by my television. I eventually discovered that my Formuler USB DVB-T/T2 tuner, purchased in January was extremely (very) hot and was the cause of the problem. Amazon were kind enough to refund the purchase price on warranty so I could buy a replacement. However, on reflection, I am reluctant to buy another because I believe the fault could have permanently bricked my Z8. Has anyone else experienced this serious problem? Does Formuler know about this unsafe overheating failure? And finally, any recommendations for a more reliable alternative please ?

    Thank you Sam. This is all a bit beyond me. I think my first mistake is trying to find ip address with my Android phone. In order to get into proper settings I assume I need Windows, so will have search out my old laptop 🙄

    Would like to connect WD My Cloud as NAS to my Z8 and keep getting Failed - Check Parameters.

    I have tried both IPs for the WD My Cloud and Z8, ie 192.168.1.24. and 1o2.1y8.1.26 respectively with and without /Z8 at the end but it still won't connect.

    Can anyone advise me please.

    Another tip: there is a very big quality difference between antennas.
