While the z12 has issues that need to be fixed, I believe this not z12 issue. And I think is either something google did or something in the newest stremio update. I have Z12 with updated app with mostly same behavior also have newish high-end Hisense tv won't play files over 30gb where both of these would play 100gb files before last updates and before stremio was suspended from google play. Now my 2019 NVidia shield pro has the newest update and will play any size file. But this device also is not updated by google play or connected at all, so old versions of all internal android apps. I would try rolling back to last stremio version and see what you get.
Working fine with Plex & Kodi (100 Gb files)
I have no problem with kodi either, works great on formuler and what I mostly use. I find Stremio to be buggy in some way on most android boxes I've used, except for the 2019 shield never had a problem on that box. plays everything.

Anything around 40gb with Hardware Accelerated Decoding turned on and it won't play at all, frozen image/playback. When I turn it off, it will play these files, but not with awful quality... Stremio as the default player. Do I have a lemon?
Playing the same link/file on a z10 and it plays normally. Maybe android 12 is just buggy?
Please wait for promised big update for z12. Maby there is something that fix the problem.

...we are waiting already a long time.
But yeah, it's is very big update, fixing the bugs, testing the bugs if they are fixed etcetera.
Formuler is a small company, but lets hope they get it done in march.
And in future there come always more and more updates...
