Z12 Freezes/Crashes with AFR Enabled on Dolby Vision Content in MyTVOnline

  • Hi everyone,

    I'm experiencing a issue on my Formuler Z12.

    When I enable AFR for movies and series, and launch Dolby Vision content, the box completely freezes: the display vanishes, the HDMI source is no longer detected by my TV, which automatically switches back to its internal source.
    I have to unplug the power from the Formuler to restart it and get the TV to detect the HDMI again.
    If I disable AFR, everything works fine.

    This problem only occurs in MyTVOnline. I've tested with other apps like Plex, Stremio, and Tivimate, and even with AFR enabled, there's no issue on Dolby Vision content.
    I've tried fully uninstalling MyTVOnline, rebooting the box, and reinstalling it, but no improvement.
    I've also followed common suggestions like clearing the cache, backing up and restoring settings, checking the HDMI cable, etc., without success.

    Has anyone encountered this on the Z12 ? Or is this a known bug that could be fixed in a future update ?

  • I have it sometimes (almost never) with kodi when i play a Dolby vision movie.

    There was already an update, but problem was still there, but less.

    I thought they know about it. It's a long time to wait for the big next update. But i hope it will come in march.

    You installed latest update already right?

    Yes, I've installed the latest update already.
    For me, HDR10 and HDR10+ formats work perfectly fine with no issues, but it's 100% of the time on Dolby Vision content that the crash happens.

    In the meantime, I'm forced to use Tivimate to enjoy my content without problems

  • Are you sure your box is set for Auto 4k mode? I had what sounds like the same problem when my box was set to 1080P and i tried to play dolby vision to see if box would switch back to 4k or not and vice versa. Also Sparkle player performs really well on this box, much better than tivimate in my opinion.
