  • Hi everyone

Recently upgraded from z11 to z12 and having issues.

Setup: Hardwired, Surfshark/ Wireguard. Lasted firmware, tried factory reset.

Testing various playlists (Xtream), and most constantly freeze or reconnect. Tested with multiple players like TiviTime, WaveIPTV, SparkleTV and even MOL3.

After some very basic research, the one thing (so far) they all have in common is they stream H.264 . The one playlist that runs without issue streams H.265

I even setup my old z11 and same issue.

Is it possible z11 and z12 have codec issues ?

    Any other suggestions?

    Thanks

  • H264 and h264 plays since mytvonline, mytvonline2 and mytvonline3 just fine.

    Turn off vpn and test.

And check at surfshark for chameleon protocol.

With nordvpn it's called an Obfuscated server.

In spain as example they slow down internet speed while using vpn for iptv streaming.

When i adviced a friend to take Nordvpn and choose Obfuscated server problem was solved.

Obfuscated servers are for the internet provider to see as normal https traffic.

In short: they don't see you use a vpn then.

Surfshark has also that option, maby with an expensiver subscription. It's called chameleon server i thought.

Try if you have a good subscription with the chameleon server and connect to that one and try.

  • Quick update.

Thought I was onto something but now not so sure.

I tried a still in development player (IPFlix Pro) that had a recent update. Tried one of the problematic playlists and it plays flawlessly (for now).

Beginning to accept that not all playlists work on all players in the same way and the XC spec/ APIs are not implemented the same.

I’ll keep trying to narrow things down and willl report findings.

  • for reference, from the developer.

I’ve made some changes around how codecs are handled in the player. I realized different codec types need to be handled differently. Some streams were working fine, while others had issues like freezing, artifacts (green glitches), or failing to play 4K content. I’ve adjusted the handling logic accordingly, and for now it seems to have resolved those issues.
