    What I mean by groups, on any live tv channel, doesn’t matter which provider, if you press groups button on your rcu it will open a menu which automatically separates content by provider.

    For example:

    Heading: Provider A

    Entertainment

    Factual

    Kids


    Heading: Provider B

    Entertainment

    Factual

    Kids

    So the first provider you setup in your content manager list and the relevant bouquets is what appears in your groups menu first and separated in order of content manager list.

    To the left of that are also icons which is basically a folder of some description so you can easily select the provider you want to use.

    If you have favourited your channels, you’ll only be able to view those favourites in one big list, it doesn’t appear to seperate by provider so maybe in that instance you create a favourite and rename by provider?

    With regards to the UI, it’s a nice touch being able to change the colour theme on the Home Screen. I usually change the wallpaper for my own because the old theme was outdated but this has refreshed and its very Android TV…. Almost!

    For those that may not have seen, go to Home Screen and select settings then open launcher settings, select wallpaper and open gallery

    I see what you mean, it could be nice to press home button and you go back to home.

    I have found that initially I was using direction pad on RCU (up down left right) to go back from menus to home, however; I press back arrow 🔙 and it does take you to home.

    You still have to blast through menus but it’s quicker than using directions.

    With reference to startup it will go to home option I’ve found.


    Settings icon in post 5 is not for selection, next to that is left direction arrow < so it’s basically saying there’s an extra setting so press left direction on your RCU to open next menu.


    In tv series or VOD menu, instead of pressing back button which as you say takes you back to live tv, press menu button on remote (3lines) and MTOL3 menu appears.

    I wouldn’t think it would cause your issue in this situation but even still it’s something to look out for just incase

    For sure this is a provider issue, there something in the panel coding that’s changed preventing MTOL reading the playlist.

    Same issue related to if it connects via mobile instead of wifi and then stops using wifi and or Ethernet


    Should be a quick fix but must be done from provider / panel supplier side

    Refresh content is separate from EPG.

    It’s to pull new content that the provider has pushed to your subscription. Some providers update once per day but others multiple times per day.


    If you are having an issue with epg, have you set your epg update interval?

    Mine is automatically set to update every 24 hours and I find this does work and haven’t experienced an issue.

    To locate this option, open content manager and select the subscription you want to change, click the edit icon and you’ll open a list, change your time in “EPG UPDATE INTERVAL” and the update once done.

    Sadly this is not what we req as we still have to dig into the menu system to manually update.. Well well.. We need Refresh button directly when pressing menu, like in Mytvonline 2..

    As for manual refresh, I too hoped this would be implemented in the same way as MTOL2, 175N suggested it would be in this update although I’m unsure if he meant something else.

    I’m unsure what you mean “can’t create the name of into rows”

    Can’t you explain please and I will check for you to see if I get the same.


    If you mean when you create your own group, it is possible to change the name of that group.

    You locate the name and press and hold OK button and options appear.

  • How to prevent MTOL3 auto loading on startup

    Formuler Home Screen > Quick Settings menu > Power mode > Power off


    That path will set to power off when you select power button on your remote so the next time you press it, it will power back on.


    If as you’ve confirmed that the startup app is not set, it should simply power on to your Home Screen.

    EPG could be panel / provider related which is why it’s taking a while to resolve.

    Not suggesting an issue provider side but it could be the scripts are different to others that are working so it’s a matter of Formuler devs wading through I guess.

    Think Sam mentioned before that main guide in MTOL3 pulls differently to other version(s) so I guess it’s only a matter of time before it’s sorted.

    I'm now seeing EPG across both provider A and B beyond 24 hours.

    4 days for A


    5 days for B


    So for me, epg issue is no more.

    Currently running latest update and I see epg improvement, partially.


    Main guide

    Provider A - 24 hours epg still

    Provider B - 5 days epg

    XC API connection

    Each connection with a different panel


    Consider the update was not advised as anything epg related and I haven’t checked on epg for a while so it could have been like that since the last one


    Either way, I see what I see :thumbs_up:

    MTOL3 has an automatic content refresher, I personally do not see what people mean that it doesn’t work.


    For me it does work and has worked since the start.

    Content refresher automatically refreshed content for me at the time I set which is 11:00am


    If I turn on my box at 11:15 as an example the box powers on and then when loading MTOL3 it takes a little extra time but once loaded it notifies me content refresh complete, so it does work.

    However; it only does that from the time set. Maybe in the future it could do it at more intervals.

    If the user wants to manually refresh, that too is an option however there’s several more steps to do this which is long winded but I expect it’s because the auto refresh feature is present so the manual refresh is kept out of the way or so to speak.

    There is an afterthought with this process because many users experience multiple content updates each day from providers so I guess three options for Formuler to consider:


    1) Manual refresh in same location as MTOL2

    2) More time intervals for automatic update

    3) Both the above.


    But overall the auto refresh and manual refresh are

    Present in MTOL3

  • Compatible USB C-type hub with PD for Z mini (Database)

    For portability the Z Mini is excellent, overall it’s really good for such a compact size, the only caviat is the large RCU.


    Don’t get me wrong, I like the Formuler RCUs, they’re perfect for more permanent TV solution however; as the mini is portable, it would be nice to see a more compact version of BT1. Same features or as close as possible but less footprint.

    Then it really is truly portable.


    Quite sure the Z mini will be very popular if not already.

    The worlds most bought streaming stick will be heading to its own OS soon and moving away from Android so unless app developers bother with new apps especially in the IPTV space, it’s a prime opportunity for Formuler to take those users :OK_hand:

    I’ve been through this thread and can’t see anything about what I’ll post so here goes.

    I actually have 3 Z11 pro max’s in use but I’ve
    Just setup a Z mini because Itl be great for when I travel and seems an excellent little device.

    Perfect addition to the Formuler line up.

    Love how a feature that’s been requested so many times has appeared within MTOL3 on the mini.

    For those wondering, when you have multiple providers channels in a list, you can actually select the name of the provider you want to view.

    So the requests were a collapsible folder when you press groups and this is a similar thing Formuler have come up with and it’s excellent! Very helpful.

    Now I have just one “negative” about this feature or it may have been missed by the devs or it’s deliberate but I’ll say anyway.

    If you have pinned bouquets and also put them in an order to your preference, I notice the feature mentioned above will show no channels when selecting a provider, however the pinned groups will appear in the main groups heading.

    If you don’t use the pin option, they appear as normal per provider.

    Consider pinning bouquets is done only for reordering them so it’s a necessary feature.


    Hopefully this piece can be looked at?

    Apologies if that isn’t the best description above, those with a mini and multiple providers will understand what I mean.


    Apart from that, excellent device!

  • Performance / Speed

    Unsure if this was ever mentioned before but if not and you’re interested, here’s a very quick and easy way to speed up menu transitions.

    Lightening fast, I think in comparison to standard settings.

    1. Formuler Homescreen
    2. Settings > device preferences > about > build
    3. Select build 10 times to enable developer
    4. Go back to device preferences and go down to developer options
    5. Go down to window animation scale and set the following:

    Window Animation Scale set to OFF

    Transition Animation Scale set to OFF

    Animation Duration Scale set to .5x


    Now exit developer options and test


    Should be the same menu path across the Z series devices I expect

    That should then automatically search for epg when that time hits.

    Overall it won’t change that you’ll only get 1 day epg but it should refresh it automatically to save you manually doing it.

    It works well for me so hopefully it does for you also.

    Go to content manager

    Got to content sources

    Select your subscription

    See the icons at the top, locate and select the one that says refresh

    Wait a couple of mins whilst it reloads the subscription


    Hopefully that sorts it for you

    EPG for 24 hour isn’t an issue for me as I don’t schedule recordings etc.

    My posts primarily were for those who had no epg at all.

    I think the person above was also suggesting they had no epg, unless I read the post incorrectly.
