Formuler Z7+ mac adress to a new Formuler Z11 Pro Max

Question from a friend:

I have an account running from a provider that I can't get in touch with. The account is running on a Formuler Z7+.

If I get a Formuler Z11 Pro Max, can I change to the same mac address on this and run the same connection as on the previous box (Z7+)?

I tried to but it never worked for me. Better to get a new provider and start new.

It is possible if you do not use the z7+ anymore for this provider, but in some cases if denied from server the account need to be refreshed. So the advice from skicard is better solution.
