No, not possible so far i know.

Why you want to root it?

I'm not a google fan. When I got the box, first thing I did was delete the Google stuff. Since the update you can't delet any of it now.
How do you use account and e-mail sign in-in device preferences-if not with with google?
Do you get all your Apps from Market or by sideloading?
So much easier to use google

I sideload everything. I only use the z11 just for streaming.
So,i guess you were used to a Firestick before buying a Formuler device?
Everyone its own preference.

Try app adb app from appstore. You can delete apps with it after a good setup

Oh yeah, lots of practice using firesticks. I even have otg cables for them. They are doing away with sideloading along with other stuff like not being able to use a mouse/pointer so you can only use the silk browser. Thru my router I have denied Amazon from accessing my firesticks and haven't had an update in over a year.
