  • Since yesterday I've been having a really strange issue with my Z8 box. I've had 4 or 5 disconnects from my portal yesterday and when I contacted the provider he said that the box was opening 2 concurrent connections at the same time to the server and the anti-spam technology on his side was blocking my IP address.

What could be the reason for this? It hasn't happened before with the stable release. No other programs/apps were open on the box apart from MYTVOnline2, noone was even touching the remote, the channel was just playing constantly, no attempt for a connection from another client or anything.

  • The same thing happened to me yesterday.

    Got myself banned from provider.

    Their feedback stated....

"Our server detected multiple connections from your IP address and blocked it"

I may have caused the problem myself.

Being used to a MAG box I wanted to 'Reload the Portal'...

As I couldn't find this option on the Z8 I decided to 'Disconnect from the Portal' and then reconnect.

May have done this twice, which then got me banned.

Luckily my provider was very understanding and I'm back on now... (and taking a lot more care of what I do!)

I wonder when using MyTvOnline2, in the 'menu', 'connections', there could be an option available to 'RELOAD' portal rather than just the option to 'Disconnect'.

    Just a thought.

  • Worked okay for 2 days with the new version, then yesterday (before updating to 1.4.9) started acting up again.

The streams would work fine for couple of hours. Then all of a sudden it stops and I am forced out of it. When I contact the provider he tells me that I have 2 active connections opened up at the same time and it could be according to him one of the following:

    1) The connection gets lost and when there is a reconnect the first one (the lost one) doesn't automatically disconnect and keeps going in the background

    2) Somehow the box is trying to make two connections at the same time, even though local timeshift is off

Is there a way to make this go away? It's really annoying to have to constantly bug my provider for unblocking my IP because of something that I'm not even doing.

Is there a way to actually check the outgoing connections you have at a particular time or limit it to one only (somehow?)? I am using WiFi by the way, I will check with wired connection as well, even though the router is on the other side of the room.
