Hello,
Has anyone figured out how to increase the VPN speed on the Z8? I’m using Surfshark with a 140Mbps connection, my max speed is 35Mbps. All my other devices connect at 120Mbps with this VPN

Hello everyone!
Sadly, I am too having issues with my VPN from NordVPN. Basically I have 1gbit connection and every time I connect to Nord, I get about 30-40mbit.
I have a Formuler Z8
I love it still!I’ve tried changing every protocol, tried static ip, tried different servers and different kinds like p2p/obf/you name it. Even reinstalled everything. I even tried the same server/country/protocol with my phone at the very same time and the phone hits about 220mbit parallel to the box 35mbit...
Obviously the fault could be over at NordVPN, but maybe someone here knows a way around it? Maybe the app is faulty?
Any tip is welcome 🙏 Open to try anything

Hi. Is your box not working with Nord on.
I have used Nord for years without a problem using box. I have just run that speed test app on box and it also says mine is 35Mbps. Do you want to change broadband provider?.
I think its the speed test,
I ran a test on Pc with Nord app on and because my Mrs sometimes switches it off it also goes through router with Nord on, so in other words 2 lots of Vpn. the speed test said 85 Mbps.

I cant believe it, it actually was the speed test app showing different results. All solved. I got 70+mbit now at least

MY speed on PC was 85Mbps, I have Nord app on My Pc which also blocks pop ups and advertising links, My Mrs likes advertising links easier to click on, She used to turn Nord off on PC so I have pc set in Vpn Client list on my router so its always on Vpn even if she closes app on PC. When I ran test both app and Client on router were on.
Even If speed was really 35 it would still work fine

Ive just tried 3 on Z8 full of adds Which is why they are there LOL
One said 18Mbps Another 23Mbps and another 55Mbps all on same Nord sever
Further up date I have tried some with and without Vpn and on some there was only 7Mbps difference between Vpn on and Vpn off

For those who can use Nordlynx protocol in Nordvpn
It is known as wiregurad in linux, it is faster and safer than any other protocol.
Check with your vpn provider.
The speed is 3-4 times faster than openvpn
On raspi 4 i get 270 mbits up and down.

Thanks changed to Nordlynx only about 15Gbps faster on Z8.
I don't think it is part of Asuswrt-Merlin for router yet

Ernesto is right, Nordlynx is good and should be used if possible. Btw. this speed apps are showing all the time different results even with same servers, nothing of big interest if stream works fine

Yep That is what I was getting at Works fine Don't fix it
