  • Hi @all,

i am new here, because i got a problem with my Formuler Z8 Pro.

The box is working fine with old monitors and TV's.

Yesterday i've bought an Samsung 95T QLED, and trying to connect the Formuler with the Samsung One Connect Box.

The Box is asking me what device i have connected and also asking for a provider.

Even what i choose, the Formuler starts to reboot and i can't control it anymore with my remote control.

With normal TV's without the Samsung One Connect Box is all fine.

    Does someone have an idea?

    Kind regards,

    Moe

  • ah great, so then the Samsung box won't use a provider or something else and just send the signal directly to the TV?

yes, that is the plan. I don't have the exact TV, but my Samsungs have a similar "setup device" screen that can be skipped by pressing the back key on the TV remote. Alternatively you can read the TV manual to find out if it is possible to disable the "One connect" function for certain HDMI ports.

  • Hey 175n,

one last question, i hope you could help me.

The point you told me to skip the setup was working and i am on the formuler menu.

Now is the problem, that the formuler remote doesn't working anymore. I can't choose an app or open mytvonline nothing.

I think Samsung is blocking that anyway.....do you have an idea to make the remote working?

I tried 2 different remotes and both are not working, on another tv they are working fine.

I hope you could help me

  • If you are using the IR extender cable on your Z8 Pro, disconnect the cable and try the Formuler remote again.

Make sure you point the Z8 remote directly at the front of the Z8 when you are pressing the buttons.

See if your Samsung TV remote will control your Z8 Pro.

If your Samsung TV remote controls your Z8 Pro, Turn off the CEC (Anynet?) control on your Samsung TV temporarily.

Z8 Pro > Home Screen > Settings > Advanced Options > Turn off "Enable CEC" or Turn off "Use TV remote controller"

  • If the Formuler remote works fine on other TVs but doesn't work on your Samsung TV, try the troubleshooting steps in the article below:

Also, if it wasn't already known to you, the remote that comes with the Z8 Pro operates using infrared, not bluetooth. In other words, line-of-sight between the front of the remote and the front of the Z8 Pro device is required (unless you are using the remote extender eye).
