No Ethernet connection + DD output

Hi all, I just received my Formuler Z10 Pro Max yesterday. I cannot get the ethernet connection to work. I know the cable is good because it works with my Z8 Pro. The wifi connection works great and I have updated the software to the latest revision. I do see it connected to the router and it appears to be communicating but the Z10 says not connected. I've tried both DHCP and Static configurations but they won't work.

Any ideas??

Also, any ideas on how to get the Hi-Def Audio to work?? Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD .... etc? I see the selections in Audio Settings but they are greyed out. I have the box hooked up to my Denon X4400H

It turned out to be the cable after all. The Z8 Pro will accept 10/100/1000 whereas the Z10 is gigabit only.

That's why the cable worked on the Z8 Pro and not the Z10.

I replaced the cable and all is good now.

If you have and ideas on how I can get the Hi-Def Audio to work I would greatly appreciate it.

The message shows up from the box when playing a video file from Media Browser.

Box -> Denon -> TV

Same file with same setup using Z8 Pro plays all audio formats.

So, with Z8 Pro there was a download for Audio Optimizer which is not available for the Z10 Pro ... maybe that's the difference?

I'm not sure what you mean by other file?? I get the same error with test files for Dolby Atmos, Dolby True Hd and DTS-MA. The only files recognized are Dolby Digital or Dolby Digital +.

I had it that way for years and things worked flawlessly, then i bought a soundbar and heaven appeared. 😀

Hi Hexagon, in my case you are actually incorrect. Unless the TV is equipped with an HDMI eARC port there is no way Dolby Atmos, TrueHD or DTS-MA will pass back to the receiver. What you suggest is ok for a soundbar but nothing else. It is always better to connect the box to the receiver and then to the TV when using 7.1 and above capable equipment. Thanks for your input,

Hi Sam, I did this and was not prompted to install any Codecs. I've never seen the pop up since I received the Z10 Pro.

Yes, it appeared on VOD ... downloaded Codec but still no Hi-Def audio. There is no HDMI audio passthrough option in the Sound Settings and all the formats show on but greyed out.

If you download and play any of the test files from Dolby using the Media Browser you will see "Unknown audio format" on upper left screen. See attached pic

These ALL play properly on the Z8 Pro.
