  • Hi,

I have a Z11 pro max. I try to connect to my Omv(5) server so i can use it in both direction, showing photo from server with photoguru app, or for recording.

I have read the article about z8 and synolog, try to implace the settings in omv as mutch i can and understod, but somethings go wrong. I try both network storage, and explore with file explorer app, like filemanager+.

I can ping the device from server and laptop, but in apps the only thing i see they have some connection is in photoguru and i chose conect witn smb and i can search for network it is founding the rigth ip number for the omv server.

I even try using th DLNA on the server but no conecton possible. But my Tv have that service and i can use my omv server DLNA direct on my Tv, so i can use it, but most i wont use it with my Formular box.

Any sugestion on what im missing or what could be wrong? I try all settings with both username and password for the server and without.

    Thank you for the answer.

I have now try with filemanager+, it's only on local networks it's search by itself, but no sucess, i also try smb both anonomys and with user and password and still no connection.

I guess some settings in my omv is the reason, but have no clue.

In omv you should setup the share settings to "everybody".

Turn of share by administartors to everyone.

And the smb share under "public", set it to guests only.

Should look for the settings in my raspberry

Thanks again, i don't figured out what you meen with "Turn of share by administrators to everybody"

The other 2 i fix, i create a new map as i share to everyone, and i set share smb to guest only, but still don't work, so hopes you can explain the other thing for me.

    Should be there at:

    Services, smb/cifs, shared sources.

Click on your share, edit and third line should be "public" named. Change it to "guests only".

I use omv6 on raspberry pi, so hope its same at your nas.

  • Hahaha,

    Great te hear my friend.

Btw, i have nordvpn, there is a setting to get access to the local network.

Maby also in your app, so vpn can be on.

I have cyberghost, i have found a settings that allow me to use other apps like filemanager+. The only thing now is to find a solution for recording (network storage). But nothing i really use, but i'm probably find a solution on that too, i see if i found something like yours.

    Big thanks!
