  • Hello,

I am capable of following instructions and I am looking to use my win11 pc as storage and to retrieve downloaded media to play back on my Z11.

Is there a video or write up on how to connect the 2 devices and keep the connection going?

    I appreciate any help.

    Thank you.

  • No video what i know.

Only i can say it download file manage plus app. Open app and go to "remote", then add remote location and then search on local network automatic and or manual smb credentials.

But first share on you windows 11 pc a folder with files and share it for everyone.

Thanks for the reply and the suggestion. I downloaded the app and tried to gain access to my pc, auto and manual/ firewall off/on but no luck. I'm stumped.

    The follow:

    1. Enable Insecure Guest Logins via Group Policy:

    - Press **Win + R**, type `gpedit.msc`, and press Enter to open the Group Policy Editor.

    - Navigate to **Computer Configuration** > **Administrative Templates** > **Network** > **Lanman Workstation**.

    - Double-click **Enable insecure guest logons** and set it to **Enabled**.

    - Apply the changes and restart your computer.

  • Try the following if you have not done it already:

    1. Open Control Panel app
    2. On the next screen, click “Turn Windows features on or off” option under “Programs and Features” section.
    3. Scroll to the middle in the pop-up and enable “SMB 1.0/CIFS File Sharing Support” option. This option has three sub-items, make sure all the items are enabled.
    4. Enable also "SMB Direct" option (if not enabled)
    5. Click “OK” button to apply the changes. Windows will search for required files and show the success message that requested changes are completed. Click on “Restart now” button to enable SMB immediately

Although promising and a new track in my quest to establish a connection between Z11 and my pc, unfortunately it did not work.

    Thanks for the help.
