Is alway a pain to enter credential via the remote, can we use the phone keyboard?

On iOS I use an app called “remote ATV”
Can also use the Google home app, but find the remote ATV app easier to use -
On Android I sometimes use the app 'Google TV'. I mostly use a little usb minikeyboard.
