  • When using the catch up option through the EPG is there an option to extend the time of the catch up programme? I always seem to miss the end by a few seconds.

Look in settings of mytvonline 2.

    Menu, settings, dvr option.

Stand there extra recording time? Add the extra minutes tou want.

I can't check it because i have newer box. But i thought it have that option too.

  • Hi Jazzman

I'm not very familiar with the Formuler Z8 Pro, Z8, Z Alpha, Z+ Neo. I'm more familiar with the Z11 Pro/ Z11 Pro Max that use MOL 3. I'm not sure if my answer to you is really relevant to the Z8 Pro, Z8, Z Alpha, or Z+ Neo, but here goes:

There is no dedicated function that I know of to extend the time of a catch up program. For recordings, we do have the option to extend all recordings by 1 minute.

This is a known issue with Formuler boxes. The issue is that the stream that is sent by a provider has typically up to one minute latency (when compared to the exact same local Over-The-Air TV station on cable TV for example).

I expect that you also notice that when you want to start watching any program (let's say at 20:00 (8 p.m.) as indicated in the EPG - whether it is 'live' or on 'catch up'), the program does not actually start until 20:01 (8:01 p.m.). When the EPG advances to 20:00 (8 p.m.), you still get the end of the previous show and perhaps several commercials.

There is a work-around that you can try, but it is far from ideal though.

In the Android settings (under Device Preferences), you can turn off the 'Automatic Time and Date' (that is sent by the provider) and then set the time ahead manually so that it is offset by one minute. This should align your EPG with the start and end of the actual stream. This however is not ideal - if there is a power interruption at any point in the future, the time (and date) will not be correct.

Fixing this problem has been asked for by many members (at least in the Z11 Pro/ Z11 Pro Max Forum). In the 'Content Sources' section of the MOL 3 menu, you are currently able to do an 'Offset EPG', but the minimum is +/- 30 minutes.

If the 'EPG Offset' minimum could be selected as low as +/-0.5 min., +/-1 min., +/-1.5 min. or +/-2 minutes, this would eliminate many issues with watching 'live' and 'catch up' programming, and would also fix the very similar issue with Recording and Reminder start/end times.
