USB3 ethernet 2.5gig adapter: use vpn, no logo and 100Mbps.

Goodday my friends,

I have updated my house with CAT 7 ethernet cables and a 2.5gig switch.

I connected the "usb3 to 2.5gig ethernet adapter" to my usb3 port on my Z12 when box was on.

And ofcourse a cat7 in the ethernet port of the adapter DIRECTLY in the 2.5gig switch.

I use Nordvpn.

After restart box i saw on the homescreen:

no key from vpn security.

At network settings at link speed: 100Mbps (yes 100), not 2500

Nordvpn is ofcourse connected!

IP checked and was good.

In MyTVOnline3 you see the key.

(Is good, so it's protected.)

And when i did speedtest i became above the 100Mbps. (Yes, i know i don't get full speed with vpn😉. But it was described at ethernet settings as 100Mbps) and when i put cable direct from switch to ethernetport Z12 i got direct 1000Mbps.

But i just wanna show you what i see.

What do you expect from this device with Z12? You will not get the 2.5 g that`s for sure.

I got now 2.5gig at home. Cat7 cables and switches.

I understand i won't get more then 1000Mbps.

Only thing what i want to let you see are 4 things:

1: Vpn key logo on homescreen is gone, since connected to usb3 to 2.5gig ethernet adapter. (Photo 2)

2: Link speed on 2nd photo says 100Mbps??? Should be 1000Mbps (Photo 3)

3: Nordvpn is on yes, so key protection logo should appear on homescreen. But it's not. It's only availeble in mytvonline3.

4: speedtest says with nordvpn on over 200Mbit. Without nordvpn 1400gig one time. (Photo 5)

So the 100mbps on photo 2 isn't right.

Incompatible it should be then ofcourse yes.

1 ordered two usb3 to 2.5gig ethernet, but got 3 delivered.

Ome for my nas server to the 2.5gig switch.

And one for pc.

The one that was left over i tried on my Z12. Just for fun. And then i knew that there maximal 1000mbit must stand at ethernet. But it shows 100Mbits.😂

So not 100% compatible, but with speedtest in get above 100Mbit.

Tomorrow i disconnect it en plug in cat7 cable direct and done.
