Hello,
I have a VPN router on my network that stays connected to a VPN with PIA 24/7. It works beautifully, even with my Formuler box. I have my gateway and DNS address both set to the VPN router (this "router" is a re-purposed Raspberry Pi, by the way). The tricky thing that's going on is... I have my VPN router setup so that when the VPN connection drops, all outbound traffic is blocked. This works 100% flawlessly on my laptop. When I set my gateway and DNS on my laptop to the VPN router, and the OpenVPN service is stopped, I can no longer get internet on my laptop. When the server is started again, the internet picks right up.
The problem is that MYTVOnline, for some reason, continues playing even when the OpenVPN service is stopped. If I get out of MYTVOnline and go to the network configuration page in the Formuler, it shows me that I have no connection. If I go back into MYTVOnline, it cannot find the connection and it works as intended. It seems, though, that the channel will continue playing indefinitely, even when the VPN service is stopped, all the way up until I get out of MYTVOnline and try to get back in.
Does anyone know why the channel feed isn't cut off when the VPN service is stopped? It's not like it's playing back any type of "buffer" either. When my VPN connection drops, it's almost like MYTVOnline defaults to my normal connection, because the little "buffer" icon shows all three bars with the VPN service being off. It's the strangest thing...
Thanks for any help!
