Under vformat button - I see a few options (original, pan scan, combined and fit on) is there a suggested setting for a 4k TV?
What you mean with 4K under vformat? Original, pan scan, combined and fit is screen streching, croping or full screen showing for all resolutions, no matter if 720p or 2160 - UHD (4K).
under resolution button I see many option - Does this make a different - 1080p 60mhx vs 1080 50mhz.. I think when I first looked at it it was set to 4096x2160 x 24mhz I changed it to 1080 50mhz and the picture looks better. but any suggestions on this?
Of course it depends from your TV. UHD TV Owners should (with HDMI 2.0 cable!) use the best possible resolution for best viewing, this would be 2160p /60Hz and FHD TV user 1080 50/60hz. The picture look depends also from viewer and the settings he made, there are so much that can be set. Press VFormat for 2. sec longer then you get PQSettings.

i have notice that when im using Mol and im on the classic view of channels my screen changes from a dark grey to a pale grey... any ideas why is this
