  • hello,

When i Watch a 4k movie with kodi the stream stop and it show the text read to slow.

I got it wired and 400mbit connection and an real debrid account

If i Watch it with my desktop i got no problem at all.

Is there something I can do to solve this problem?

Yes i got an ultra hd television.

I hope someone can help me.

    Thanks in advance

  • If the wired connection is truly getting 90Mbps as claimed, this would be more than enough for 4K. But I am even seeing buffering occurring on 1080P. Switching to wireless helps, but really why can't the wired connection work as stated.

  • hello,90Mbps is clearly not enough.

My desktop runs kodi 4k movies in combibation with an real debrid account smoothly.

    I did a test with fast.com.

Same wired connection desktop around 400 Mbps and formuler z7+ around 90 Mbps and clearly not good at all to watch 4k.

    I will try the dongle.

    Greetings

  • you clearly missed my point. The formuler is NOT delivering the claimed 90Mbps bandwidth. Try google "average bandwidth 4k movie".

How much bandwidth does 4k use?

But many consumer broadband connections aren't fast enough to allow reliable 4Kstreaming. Amazon recommends at least 15 megabits per second, while Netflix advises 25 Mbps. But if other devices at home will be occupying your bandwidth, 15 or 25 Mbps alone won't suffice.Dec 10, 2017

  • Ignore my last post. I did some more reading (I'm not a RD user) and I guess they don't compress the crap out the video like other sources. Acccording to this reddit thread https://www.reddit.com/r/Addons4Kodi/…real_debrid_4k/, your RD streams 4K rips may reach 40GB/hour == 95Mbps. I doubt that any IPTV provider comes anywhere close!

Check out the actual bit rate of the movie on your PC with http://kodi.wiki/view/codecinfo .

Lucky you with a 400Mbps internet connection. I have a ~50Mbps connection. I see more like 55Mbps from my Xeon desktop and 40-ish on the Formuler. But then again I only want 1080P/60 not 4K. 50Mbps should be plenty.

Going to a wireless dongle will not help me my internet is the bottleneck. I need a fix that delivers 50Mbps on wired.

Not sure where the problem is and without root access I can't look at the kernel stats while streaming. Could be packet loss. Throughput programs using TCP (speed tests) don't help for UDP based streaming protocols nor do they run long enough to tell the performance over time. I'd want to run a real stream, wait for a hiccup, then check the network stats.
